Air Purifier Reviews – Researching The Air You Breathe

For allergy sufferers, nothing is more crucial than having a good air purifier, and our air purifier reviews will help you make a great decision. Most reviews agree that it can make the difference between a comfortable day or a runny nose, burning eyes, and a sore throat. Air purifiers are used to remove microscopic particles of allergens from the air. These can be from smoke, dust, mold spores, pet dander, or pollen. Most reviews will tell you, correctly, that the HEPA filter is the most effective at getting rid of airborne pollutants.

HEPA stands for “High Efficiency Particulate Air.” To be certified as a HEPA filter in the United States, a filter must adhere to standards set by the United States Department of Energy. The main standard is that the filter must remove 99.97 percent of airborne particles 0.3 micrometers or larger in diameter. Virtually all air purifier reviews are about purifiers with HEPA filters.

Most HEPA filters have at least three layers of fibers, and can trap particles by three methods: interception, impaction, and diffusion. When looking at air purifier reviews, just remember the most important thing about the HEPA filter is that it removes those 99.97 percent of airborne particles. That will greatly increase the quality of your air, while decreasing the chances of allergic reactions to pollutants.

Air Purifier Reviews – Nice Clean Air

Another thing that you want to see in air purifier reviews is the CADR, or Clean Air Delivery Rate. Often, there are three CADR values on an air purifier. One is for smoke, one for pollen, and one for dust. Some air purifier reviews just have one general or average number. Basically, the higher the number, the better the filter.

The other main thing you will want from air purifier reviews is how many times the purifier filters the air in a room in how many hours, and what its capacity is. You more air purfied more times per hour. For example “300 square feet 4 times per hour is not as good as 400 square feet 4 times per hour.” It this is too much to bother with, just remember to make sure the purifier has a capacity large enough or larger than the room you are using it in.

Last but not least, try to use companies with a track record of success. Many air purifier reviews cover the “Johnny-come-latelys,” but the products recommended on this website are from two companies with long-standing records of commitment to putting out great products. Both companies have unparallelled records of standing behind their products.

Our Highest Rated Air Purifier Reviews

#1 – Whirlpool AP51030K Whispure Air Purifier, HEPA Air Cleaner

The Whirlpool AP51030K Whispure Air Purifier, HEPA Air Cleaner is our number one recommended air purifier. Customer reviews from this unit are overwhelmingly positive, and for good reason. The Whispure Air Purifier effectively filters a room up to 500 square feet, 4.8 times per hour, with a CADR rating of 315. It has electronic controls and four fan speeds. It also has a turbo setting and a sleep mode. Customer reviews like the convenience.

The Whispure Air Purifier has a HEPA filter, and removes 99.97 percent of airborne pollutants 0.3 microns or larger. It also has a charcoal filter that does a lot of the work before the air even gets to the HEPA filter. Air purifier reviews mention that the air smells better. This is because charcoal is particularly good at removing odors from the air.

The Whispure Air Purifier also has the patented Quiet Partner technology for quiet, high-efficiency operation. Though some customer air purifier reviews mention noise, many state that they do just fine on lower settings, even next to their bed. And if you decide the Whispure Air Purifier is too noisy for you, you have a full 30 days to return it for your money back. Nobody in the air purifier reviews, though, has sent theirs back.

There are also two filter replacement lights that warn when either the HEPA or charcoal filter needs to be replaced, and built in handles to easily move the Whispure Air Purifier from room to room.

Across the board, users are impressed with how well this air purifier works. The reviews have mentioned cats, dogs, pollen, dust, and just about every air pollutant known to man, and almost everyone is happy with their Whispure Air Purifier.

#2 – Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier

The Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier is our second-best choice, and we will review it for you here. The Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier is designed for rooms up to 390 square feet, which is 78 of the capacity of the unit reviewed above. It has a glass fiber HEPA filter that removes the standard pollutants: dander, smoke, pollen, dust, and mold spores.

The Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier has a CADR rating of 250 for pollen, dust, and smoke. Honeywell doesn’t provide a number of how many times per hour it will filter a 390 square foot room, but it has gotten reviews that say it is more than adequate for a room that size. Doing the math from above, the Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier will filter the air in a 390 foot room between 4 and 5 times an hour.

While this isn’t as good as the larger Whirlpool unit, it is great for an air purifier this size. The comments in the reviews are mostly about how people are amazed that it works so well. It works on pretty much everything.

The only negatives are that is is a little loud and that it won’t clean as much air as the Whirlpool will. That being said, if you don’t need a larger air purifier, this is a great step down, and you will get the same results as the reviews stated.

#3 – Honeywell 18155

The Honeywell SilentComfort is for people who only need to purify a room of 197 square feet or less. That is 14 feet by 14 feet, or approximately the size of a small to medium bedroom. It can process a 197 square foot room 5 times in 1 hour. It has a CADR of 150.

Most of them commented that the Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Air Purifier is very quiet, and does a great job of getting rid of all pollutants. The negatives are that some people don’t like the amount of noise on the high speed, and that the unit is larger than they thought it would be.

Air Purifier Reviews: Clearing the Air

We hope these air purifier reviews have been helpful. Just remember that the larger the capacity and the larger the CADR number, the better the air purifier is.

With these air purifier reviews, you should hopefully be able to make a strong and informed decision. Take some other air purifier reviews into consideration in addition to our guides to help guide you on your way to breathing the cleanest air ever while taking our air purifier reviews into consideration.

I wanted to make these air purifier reviews to help people that suffer, such as myself, from allergies and animal dander and turn their experience around into a positive light during those spring and summer months when allergies are at their peak performance! I know that’s when my allergies are at their worst, and using an air purifier reviews sure does make the difference for me!

Air Purifiers Air Cleaners Air Filters Air Purifier Reviews

April 25, 2021 by john

Air Purifiers Introduction: It is hard to imagine today’s world without air purifiers. Air purifiers are needed not just for protection at home and office. Hospitals, defense establishments, nuclear power plants, chemical factories, electronic manufacturing units, research laboratories and some museums – all need air purifiers to guard human/animal/inanimate objects against dangerous air pollutants.

The US Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has observed that most houses and a great number of offices need air purifiers/cleaners/filters, or they can have their central AC systems equipped with air filtration because the quality of air indoors has come down in recent years, making it 2 – 5 times more polluted than air outdoors. Dust, pet hair, pollen, cigarette smoke and fibers can cause headache, breathing problems and other health issues.

Air purifiers are designed: • to remove pollutants from the air you (or animals) breathe, improving health and quality of life. • to protect inanimate objects from getting damaged. These can be computer/electronic components, medicines or treasured relics/documents in museums, etc.

Some air purification/cleaning devices are designed to be installed in the ducts of your central heating and air-conditioning (HVAC) system at home. These clean the air in your entire house. For cleaning selected areas or rooms, you can use portable room air cleaners.

Types of Air-contaminants/Pollutants Air can be contaminated/polluted by allergens, viruses, bacteria, chemicals, radiation or odors. Every one of these can pose a health problem for human/animal life, highly sophisticated electronic components, pharmaceuticals, or highly treasured objects such as documents/museum exhibits, etc.

Categories of Air-Purifiers/Filters? Air-purifiers are divided into several categories, depending on what they eliminate from air: allergens, bacteria, viruses, radioactive particles, smoke, odors and chemical particles. Depending on the nature and size of the contaminant/pollutant involved, you can select an Air-Purifiers/Filter from the following categories:

Mechanical Filters make air pass through a special screen that traps all allergens, and even tobacco smoke. HEPA filters are the most well-known mechanical filters. Most HEPA air filters/purifiers claim an efficiency of 99.97% in removing particles of 0.3 microns diameter. HEPA products are endorsed by doctors for alleviating asthma/allergy symptoms of patients.

Electronic Air Purifiers/Cleaners: Electronic/Electrostatic Precipitators trap allergens by passing them through an electric field, and directly charging them. They are later trapped using oppositely charged plates. These are the most efficient filters, especially those that run on fans. However, they need regular maintenance.

Ionic Precipitators/Ionizers (aka Negative Ion Filters) release ions into the surrounding air, unlike electronic precipitators, which draw the particles in, and then charge them directly, the released ions get attached to the airborne contaminants, and charge them. The charged particles get attracted and cling to curtains and walls, or fall to the floor.

Both electronic air cleaners (Electronic Precipitators and Ionizers) are effective only when combined with other air-filtering mechanisms as they target only particles, not gases and VOC. *Note: If you plan to buy an electronic air-purifier, make sure it does not produce ozone.

Hybrid Filters use a combination of both mechanical and electrostatic components.

Gas Phase Filters strictly remove odors/gases such as cooking gas, methane/hydrogen sulfide (in mines), etc. They do not eliminate allergens.

Ozone Generating Air-Purifiers are operated on the claim that ozone cleans the air. However, they are not endorsed by the EPA or ALA as healthy air-concentrations of ozone have little effect on indoor air pollutants, and if ozone levels are increased, they can be harmful to public health. Therefore, manufacturer-claims of safe ozone levels are rather hype.

Activated Carbon Filters change contaminants from gaseous to a solid particles and eliminates them. Activated carbon is porous, and adsorbs volatile chemicals molecular in size, but cannot remove larger particles.

Ultra-Violet Ray (UV) Filters are classified as “Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation Cleaners” (germicidal means germ-killing) by the EPA. They are high frequency and low wave-length rays that directly kill living organisms such as bacteria and viruses. However, they have no effect on gaseous VOC or dust particles and mite allergens. They are usually fitted as complementary filters to aid HEPA filters.

Cleanroom Filtration is to clean air in large interiors such as huge building, offices and factories. Most modern computer and electronic components get damaged by the tiniest of dust particles. Hence, computer/electronic/medical manufacturing companies test sensitive computer/electronic components, sterile medical equipment, semi-conductors, etc. in the purified, sterile atmosphere created by Cleanrooms. You can eliminate almost 100% of air contaminants. Cleanrooms are also indispensable in chemical, pharmaceutical and bio-technology industries. A Cleanroom filtration is complex, involving air flow & pressure, filtration and special clothing for workers.

EMF Filters incorporate a very recent technology called Enhanced Media Filtration (EMF), developed by the US military. They have overtaken HEPA as the overall leader in effective air filtration. This technology has sprung up in response to the threat of terrorism/germ warfare. Over time, it has been adapted to manufacturing environments/processes, where a sterile, particle-free room is vital. Currently, there are a few companies that have combined the best air filtration advances with EMF technology.

Aquasana, for example, has obtained the patent for an EMF system called the Health-Air Deluxe Air Purifier, which meets the standards of an FDA regulatory Class II Medical Device, which in turn means, it can be used for removal of particles in the air at home for health and medical purposes.

Which Air-Purifier/Filter is Suitable for me? In today’s competitive market, air-purifiers are designed with not just one category of air-filter system, but multiple air cleaning systems, in order to handle most of the pollutants/contaminants. Allergies are caused by various types of particles (allergens) suspended in air.

For allergies caused by pollen and larger particles (0.3 micron upwards), near/true HEPA air purifiers, and some Ionic (precipitators) air cleaners are enough for effective air-purification.

However, if more than 90% of particulates are 0.3 microns and smaller in size including: viruses, some microorganisms (bacteria, viruses and germs), dust, and allergens from mites and pet (cats, dogs, raccoons, etc) dander/hair, you need ionizers/ionic precipitators, activated carbon filters, or UV filters in addition to mechanical HEPA filters.

For even smaller particles in soot, smoke and smog, you need air-purifiers with activated charcoal filters, and some types of ozone generators.

Air-Purifier Abbreviations/Acronyms EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) AAFA (Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America) UVGI (Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation) technology is used to sanitize air, water or transparent materials/surfaces. PCO (Photo-Catalytic Oxidation) comprises of a UV lamp along with a catalyst that reacts with light, and destroys only gaseous pollutants by converting them into harmless products. MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) AHAM Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air/Accumulator) HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Adsorbers) CADR (Clean Air Deliver Report) HVAC system (Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning system)

CADR: AHAM Capacity Certification: AHAM performs testing and certification of air-purifiers/cleaners and other home appliances. AHAM also publishes CADR, which is the volume of air that an air purifier cleanses a particular pollutant, and is measured in cubic feet per minute. An air-cleaner is ranked/rated for its effectiveness at removing airborne particulates such as dust, pollen and smoke. AHAM’s CADR range from 10 to 400 for dust, 10 to 450 for tobacco smoke, and 25 to 450 for pollen, with scores above 350 considered excellent and those below 100, poor. The AHAM spec is accepted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

AHAM MERV Certification: This AHAM certification is for MERV or minimum efficiency of the filter system. A 16 MERV rating is the maximum. Reliable air-purifiers must have at least a MERV 10.

Installing a home air purifier indoors will rid the rooms in your home of many dangerous airborne allergens and help you breathe fresh healthy air once again. Any household you walk into has odors, even if you think they are clean they really aren’t. Some of the most commons odors include, cooking, body smells, smoke from cigarettes, and pet odors. Also you are susceptible to microbes, such as viruses, bacteria, mold spores and a variety of germs that can cause an allergy.

How do air purifying systems work?

Depending on which air filter cleaning system you use there are different methods to rid your home or commercial office space of pollutants. Below you will find the various types of purifiers and what they can clean.

Types of air filtering & cleaning systems for your home

The various types of indoor air cleaners include, HEPA filter air purifiers, Ozone, Carbon, Ion and Ultraviolet.

  • Hepa air cleaners – HEPA air filters (“high-efficiency particle arresting”) use very thin, paper like material to filter out 99.9% of dust particles 0.3 microns or larger in size. A Hepa air purifier is the best way to clean the rooms in your house of all types of dangerous airborne particles that can cause allergies.
  • ozone air purifier systems – Ozone air purification is designed to clean all types of odors from the rooms in your home. If you have air quality problems with odors such as cigarette smoke, pet, cooking as well as odors found in homes. Something to note ozone purifiers are not designed to clean allergens or chemicals, they are best used for irritating odors. If you need you rid your of allergens, then Hepa purifiers are your best bet.
  • ionic air purifiers – If you need a purification and cleaning system to rid your room of extremely fine dust particles, then an air purifier ionizer might is your best choice. The Ionic system purifies indoor air through a different process compared to Hepa filters. Air ionizers are filter less (no filter), they work by ionizing the air, very quietly compared to other types of cleaners. This system sends a negative charge into the room. Then as the the negatively changed polluted indoor air passes through the ionizer.
  • UV light air cleaner (ultraviolet air purifiers) – This the best clean air purification to effectively neutralize micro-organisms, such as germs, viruses, bacteria, and mold. The light from a UV light air filtering system emits the exact amount of energy to break organic molecular bonds, such as germs and viruses. The end result is destroyed. The germicidal UV air purifier is designed to destroy micro-organisms. It will not work against allergens, smoke, odors, or chemicals. Activated carbon air filters are the best way to clean air infected with allergens, odors and smoke particles.
  • The pores form a strong chemical bond/attraction to all types of odorous, gaseous, and liquid contaminates. The end result is that odors and chemicals are trapped in the pores leaving your industrial warehouse, commercial office or residential home with only fresh air for you to breathe.
  • electrostatic or electronic air cleaners & purifiers – Electronic, also called electrostatic air cleaning systems are made to clean your whole-house purifying the air in your home or commercial space. They can filter up to 98% of the dangerous pollutants from the air that passes through your cooling, as well as the heating system in your house or office. An electronic filtration machine is used to clean dust, cigarette smoke, smog dust particles and spores of mold. Air Cleaners vs Ionizer

April 25, 2021 by john

The fundamental distinction in between an air purifier and an ionizer is the fact that air purifiers eliminate pollutants from the air mechanically using conventional filters, while ionizers eliminate pollutants using electrostatic fields. Air purifiers assist raise the comfort degree in the home and reduce the probability of allergy or asthma assaults by eliminating airborne pollutants this kind of as mildew and pollen.

Air Purifier V/S Ionizer: Operation

In traditional air purifiers, a micro filter acts as a physical barrier that allows air to go through but not the particles current in the air. The air that’s sent back again into the space is thus pollutant-free. Probably the most efficient edition is the HEPA filter, which eliminates almost all airborne particulates. These filters need to be eliminated and cleaned regularly to help keep them working effectively.

An ionizer also works to get rid of airborne particles but instead of a physical barrier, these gadgets work by utilizing metal plates to make an electric impulse, that is disbursed in towards the air. This electrical impulse costs particles which are in its proximity and power them to be attracted to a charged collector place that’s fitted within the ionizer.

Air Purifier V/S Ionizer: Effectiveness

Studies show that conventional air purifiers thoroughly clean the air more successfully than ionizers. This really is since the filters attract and block all particles which are present in the air and with revolutionary filters such as HEPA, the efficiency levels go up immensely.

Whilst ionizers work equally as effectively by charging the air and getting rid of some airborne particles, the other particles escape and continue to exist in the atmosphere.

Air Purifier V/S Ionizer: Safety

The electrical charge that ionizers emit draws in and costs not only the airborne particles but also the air by itself. This implies the oxygen within the air will get billed too. When oxygen gets billed it creates ozone, which is an extremely corrosive gasoline and it is dangerous when inhaled. Even low amounts of ozone can irritate the lungs and exacerbate respiration problems this kind of as asthma.

Simply because they work by purely mechanical indicates, traditional air purifiers are overall safer to make use of in comparison with ionizers.

Air Purifier V/S Ionizer: Upkeep

Air purifier filters will ultimately get clogged using the airborne particles that they pick up and lure. Depending upon the house atmosphere and also the amount of dust and particulates present, they’d have to be changed every couple of weeks to several months. The price of these filters differs widely using the typical assortment being $50 to $150.

Maintaining an ionizer is cheaper in that there’s no need to buy replacement filters every couple of weeks or months. Instead the ionizer plate is just removed washed and changed. However, some ionizers send out far-reaching signals to dust particles. These signals charge the particles where ever they may be, creating the particles to stick to what ever surface area is nearby. The issue with this particular is the eventual dirt build up around the partitions and upholstery, which requires extra cleansing.

Air Purifier V/S Ionizer: Price Price

Whilst there’s not much cost distinction between air purifiers and ionizers, the cost of operating an air purifier is much higher because of the ongoing have to change the filters regularly.

Air Purification System

April 25, 2021 by john

Shopping for a new air purification system doesn’t have to be as time consuming and mind numbing as it sound. Its actually fairtly simple, take a look on amazon and look at the current user ratings. If the air filter or air purification system doesn’t have good reviews than pass on it, if something is bad about a model you’ll usually see it in the air purification system reviews area on amazon, or even ebay if you look at the seller feedback.

Where Will You Put The Air Purification System?

This May sound easy but its something you should think about when placing your Air Purification System in your room or house. The capacity and size of the filter needs to be weighed against the square footage of the area you placed the Air Purification System in. Dont buy a very small unit and expect to get results on a large area.

Air Purification System Capacity

We spoke about this momentarily above but it needs to be emphasized if your capacity is too small to properly filter your area it wont make a very big difference in air quality and it will equate to throwing money down the drain.  Most Air Purification Systems will have ratings based on common room and area sizes in square footage. Just pay attention to these factors when comparing Air Purification Systems online.

Performance and Availability of Air Purification System Filters

Lets face it you get what you pay for but we have a great recource in this day and age and thats genuine reviews on the items were buying. Plenty of people have created Air Purification System reviews after purchasing a purification system for the home. Follow the ratings and you will almost always be happy about your purchase, if you opt to get the cheapest model out there, dont be surprised when you see substandard air purification coming from your Air Purification System.

You Get What You PayFor When Buying A New Air Purification System

One of the hottest items to hit the market in recent years is the air purification system. There are many different models to consider on the search for the right unit for your home. These different models in the air purification system offer a range of features and a pretty vast price range. You are certain to find something that meets your needs as well as your budget.air purification system

Blueair 501 Air Purification System

Research can help you come to a decision. Reading reviews and browsing through the many different types of products available can be very time consuming. You may want to make a few considerations that can help you weed out some products that won’t meet your expectations. Your air purification system should meet your personal needs.

One of the best items on the market today is the BlueAir. I really love this air purification system for a number of reasons. The first and most important aspect as far as I’m concerned, is the motor. The BlueAir system is silent. I don’t mean that it’s quiet. I mean that you can’t hear the thing running at all.

The silent nature of the BlueAir is the top reason that I love this air purification system. Some units are downright loud. Others are quite tolerable for normal folks. However, I am easily distracted by sounds and I find that the quieter the equipment is, the better I am able to get through my day.

You can also rest assured that the BlueAir product is not going to put strain on your electric bill. This air purification system cleans the air. It runs silently and it doesn’t cost much to run at all. What more could you ask for? I guess that you could ask for more; like easy maintenance.

Will An Air Purification System Really Clean My Rooms Air?

I’m not crazy about anything technical in the least. I have no background as a handyman and I most certainly avoid touching stuff like my furnace and tankless water heater. However, I am more than happy to change the filters on my air purification system. Change up is a breeze and I love seeing how well the unit is working.

In the end a bigger air polution control system may be better for what you are trying to do, you should be aware of the differences between the two systems of air and quality control goes. Having an air purification system has been a life-changing experience for me. I can get a good night’s sleep without worrying about pet dander, pollution and smoke. The BlueAir cleaning system has left me peace of mind knowing that I am doing all that I can to make my home as healthy and happy as I can. Air Purifier Dust Air Purifier Reviews

Use Air Purifier Dust Removal To Protect Your Health

Air purifier dust filtering units can eliminate the risk of serious illnesses being aggravated by the dust mites that are ever present in modern residential homes. The air quality in most of modern buildings is far poorer than the air in the streets, and yet this is something which is not publicized and unknown in the media to anything like the same extent as the damage from industrial processes or vehicle exhaust. Despite having the lack of publicity, there is a whole industry devoted to giving you the chance to help to increase the quality of the air in your home and to protect against the risk of illness by using home air purifiers.

There are thousands of people who simply don’t realize that they really need an air purifier in their home, such as Honeywell air purifier and Hepa air purifier, and many others who don’t consider that the running costs will be worth it. After all, if there is no immediate threat to our health, there are typically other things the money can be spent on. This is an easy mistake to make, but there are very few homes that do not suffer from an excess of dust mites, even if they don’t have cigarette smoke or the complications that can be caused by having pets in the home. These airborne dust mites can be a constant source of irritation therefore people will need air purifiers for allergies.

Once you have been confident that you do need an air purifier in your own home, you will require to match the specifications to your exact needs to find some best air purifiers to choose from, for example blueair air purifier and hunter air purifier. This is easy to do when there is an noticeable specific problem such as smoker in the house. There are many purifiers that have the capacity to suck in smoke and render it harmless, and they will still have the ability to deal with ordinary household dust. If dust mites are the particular problem due to allergy sufferers, look to buy a model which meets the HEPA classification.

Conclusion of Air Purifier Dust

When you buy this kind of best air purifier for dust removal is guaranteed by the HEPA standard, that means that the air purifier machine has passed the government evaluation test that proves the capability of eliminating well over 99% of all airborne pollutants below .3 microns. The smaller particles can still get through the purifier system, but these are not the ones that bring with the serious problems people have with allergies. To be completely safe you will need to be certain that that the air purifier filters are replaced regularly, and some people even use a type of pre-filtration before the air reaches the unit.

The cost of a HEPA filter is likely to be greater than that of cheaper alternatives, but only in the first instance. If the machine is well taken care of, the filters should only need replaced occasionally, making the machine far more economical to operate than cheaper models where the filters only last for a short period. A lot depends on exactly how much dust is present in the room where the unit will run, but assuming the dust is not excessive the running expenses of an effective and quality machine will be negligible. You can definitely save money by ventilating the room at regular intervals from a purifier machine such as Austin air purifier.

When you use an air purifier dust particles are reduced from the atmosphere constantly, leaving the air cleaner and easier and healthier to breathe. This will greatly cut down the risk of anyone in the household contracting a disease from airborne pollution, and should anyone already have an allergic condition, it will make their life considerably easier. The government HEPA standard makes it very easy for anyone to evaluate the models that are on offer, and the range has never been larger. It is suggested that you use Google for research purposes, as this will enable you to directly compare one model with another. When you change the filter, you will definitely see the benefit you gain from the collected air purifier dust.

#2 – Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier

At first glance one might not feel that the Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier wouldn’t be so affordable but it’s designed and manufactured to be the kind of room air purifying unit that the average person can afford. And it is quite affordable, but it didn’t quite stand up to a lot of the testing that we put it through when we compared it to the Whirlpool Whispure Air Purifier when we did our air purifier ratings.

It’s product features and specifications are as follows:

  • Dimensions: 18 x 18 x 19.6 inches and weighs 21 lbs.

It also boasts the Honewell SurroundSeal HEPA filter that makes sure the air pulled in goes through the main filter.

With the Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier, the main air flow is the only drawback to this unit as it can give off a sound and make the unit appear wobbly. Not a major annoying sound but it’s just the sound that the heavy volume of air going throught the filter creates. Considering the power of this unit and the square footage just one of these covers, a wee bit of noise from the air going through isn’t that bad at all. You can still go about your regular routine without any noticeable noise pollution but it’s something to bring up just in case.

So again, at only 21 lbs and a foot and a half in each direction this compact unit does the job with all the real HEPA brand efficiency you want in an air purification system.

What to Look for in the Best Whole House Air Purifier The Whole House Air Purifier for Better Health

To help purify the air in your house, you have certain options such as: furnace filters, portable air purifiers and ionizers. However, there is nothing that is more effective than a whole house air purifier. Having a whole house purifier you will have clean air in the entire house from the upstairs bedrooms to the basement.

In a recent report from the Office of the Surgeon General and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) it was stated that indoor air pollution is as much as one hundred percent as much as the outdoor air pollution. Air pollution, without a doubt, is a serious problem. Since they say that we spend as much as ninety percent of out lives indoors, between home, work, shopping, etc., it is time we to take things into account and resolve the problem, especially that of the air in the house. The answer would be a whole house air purifier. Using a whole house air filtration system can easily eliminate large and small airbourne pollutants. Some of the most common indoor pollutants are dust, pet dander, pollen and dust mites. But, the biggest health hazards are pollutants such as bacteria and viruses. Did you know you can have over one million dust mites in one square inch of dust? Now that is something to think about.

With as many air purifiers as there are, on the market today, none of them are more effective than a whole house purifier. Unfortunately, with most ionizers and air purifiers of the portable type, they only purify a certain amount of square feet so you need more than one to do the whole house. How To Choose The Right Air Purifier?

April 6, 2021 by john

Air purifier reviews are something you will definitely want to take a look at, if you are considering buying an air purifier. When buying an air purifier you will need to take into consideration a lot of essential factors in terms of features and functionality. We have lots of important information for you, so let’s get started!

Dust, mold spores, pollen, pet dander and smoke particles – all of these air pollutants can cause a number of health complications, primarily respiratory problems with children and older adults. Air purifiers are designed to improve cardiovascular health. As per the recent study conducted in Copenhagen, it was found that cardiovascular health of non-smokers can improve by making use of a hepa air purifier.

In order to protect our loved ones from the harmful effects of unwanted pollutants, you can always consider buying a good quality true hepa air purifier. Air purifiers need not be expensive, as there are many reputed brands that have introduced a wide range of affordable models in the market.

How To Choose The Right Air Purifier?

According to experts, an ideal air purifier is the one that has the capability to remove even the most pollutant particle from the environment. When planning to buy your own air purifier, there are certain factors that you need to keep in mind. The list of factors that can affect the functionality and effectiveness of the unit includes – the size of the house, pets, and the location where you stay. It is important to choose only the best make and model of the best air purifier, designed to suit your particular needs.

Factors To Choose Right Air Purifier

Clean Air Delivery Rate – (CADR)

CADR, as the name suggests, is the measure of the efficiency of an air purifier in terms of removing the air pollutant particles. It is important to get the CADR number tested by AHAM. The report is provided for pollen, dust and tobacco particles. CADR is tested with the highest fan speed. So, keep this in mind when doing the same.

Safety

Most air purifiers from almost all major brands are safe to use in both home and office. However, some models may produce ozone and other gas chemicals known to cause irritants of respiratory system and can even aggravate asthma. Many states in the US, for instance, California has already banned ozone based air purifiers for home use.

Air Purifying Performance

The design and built of a hepa filter air purifier usually determine the performance. Make sure you match the product’s specifications with the kind of performance you expect or actually need. For instance, if you require filtering odor from air, you need a model with high quality carbon filters. Most low end air purifiers are equipped with carbon filters, but have limited ability to remove smells. This can be a problem for households having pets and even teenage boys with some bad lifestyle habits.

Features and Functions

Modern air purifiers in the market are available in a wide range equipped with basic to advanced features. While the final choice will depend upon your budget, it is important to understand how taking a closer look at features and functions will help you make the right choice. Most advanced features are good such as dirty filter indicator, automatic fan adjustment and air quality indicator.

Some air purifier features are self-explanatory, but many advanced features need detailed descriptions. But, you should not get carried away with all the features being offered because in the end, the only and most important is how good the air purifying unit. Here are some that you must focus on while buying. Others may be compromised if you have a unit featuring all the listed features.

HEPA-grade and True HEPA

Hepa filter is primarily designed to remove 99.97% of pollutant particles of size 0.3mm and larger. In fact, HEPA air purifiers have become quite common in the market. They are reliable, work well and have proven to be safe and effective. The only problem is that HEPA filters need to be replaced regularly to maintain the efficacy of the system.

In the market, the term “True HEPA” is quite common and companies makes sure that customers get attracted by this feature as it means that their purifiers are HEPA certified and meet the required standard. Since true HEPA filters cannot be washed, you need to replace them regularly, depending upon the requirements of your make and model.

Ionizer

Ionizer use electronically charged plates to pull air pollutants from the environment. It follows the law of Physics, where we learned that static electricity pulls hairs standing. This is exactly how Ionizer works. Best part is that it does not need filter replacement. But, you need to clean it regularly as the plates get covered with dusts and dirt that can lead to formation of rust.

 Carbon filter

These days most air purifiers make use carbon filter that chemically bind odors from the present environment. Since HEPA filters are not enough to remove odor, having a model with additional benefit of carbon filter will help you get best benefits. Remember that Carbon filters should also be replaced regularly as the carbon will be spending a lot of its potential to remove the odors.

Pre-filter

Pre-filters are designed to increase the lifetime of subsequent filters. Since True HEPA filters are quite expensive to replace and not everyone can afford the same, using pre-filters will save you money in the long run. These are washable and replaceable. They are also more efficient, as well as extend the life of the air purifier.

There are many famous brands like the Hunter air purifier, Hepa air purifier, Holmes air purifier, Honeywell air purifier that you will easily find in the market. These are most reputed and reliable brands of all. Even though we know about all the brands, it is still very important to be careful when choosing a particular air purifier model. We hope our air purifier reviews have given you all the information to make an informed decision. Now you should be able to compare well and pick the best as per your needs and requirements.

Guide to Air Cleaners for the Home

April 6, 2021 by john

A lot of people have written to me wanting to know more about Air
Cleaners for the Home. If you are one of them, then you might find the following article helpful in your search
for information. We hope you find some useful pointers.

Air pollution has always been a major concern, but when we speak of air pollution we often
refer to the air outside the home. These days, people are more concerned about pollutants in the air indoors,
especially those pollutants that cause asthma or trigger allergies.

As more and more children are being diagnosed with breathing problems and respiratory
ailments, there is a growing need for efficient air cleaners for home use. With so many types of air purifiers
available today, you have to find out how to choose the best air cleaner for you and your family.

Indoor Pollutants

Dust is a major pollutant inside many homes, and indoor air can be 2 to 5 times as
polluted as the air outdoors. This is according to the estimate of the Environmental Protection Agency. Dust is the
generic terms for the tiny residues that come off a house and its occupants. It can include pollution from the
fireplace, skin, cooking smoke, pet dander, molds, fungi, pollen, mildew, plant spores and other sources. Dust
eventually gathers on furniture, floors, shelves, etc.

People who have allergies, asthma and other bronchial problems can suffer badly from
airborne pollutants. Visible dust is approximately 10 microns in diameter. The dust that you breathe in is
typically 0.3 micron in size.

Other indoor pollutants include noxious odors and gases.

The Best Filters In Air Cleaners

If you want fresh air in your home you have to get an air cleaner with the best filters.
Cigarette smoke has very small particles and is difficult to eliminate, unless you have the right filters in your
air purifier. HEPA or High Efficiency Particulate Air filters are recommended if you want to remove at least 99.97%
of contaminants in the air inside your home. HEPA filters can remove even those particles that are 0.3 microns in
size.

To enhance the efficiency of air purifiers, a combination of filters is often used. Some
products are equipped with pre-filters, activated carbon filters, electrostatic precipitators and the like for
cleaner air in the home. Experts do not recommend the use of ionic-type filters because they are not very effective
and they emit ozone as a by-product. Ozone is considered an air pollutant and can trigger breathing problems in
sensitive individuals.

Numbers That Matter

When shopping for an air purifier, one of the numbers to consider is the CADR or Clean Air
Delivery Rate. This number is an indicator of the product’s ability to remove pollutants from air. A higher number
means the air purifier is more efficient and better at cleaning. To determine what CADR you need for a room,
multiply the square footage of the room by 0.75. This will give you the minimum CADR to look for in an air
purifier.

You also have to figure out the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of air that moves through the
unit. In general, 250 square feet of space requires about 100 CFM. Room models can provide up to 400 CFM while
tabletop models offer up to 175 CFM. You may also want to choose a model that isn’t too noisy and has an air intake
and output on opposite sides for maximum efficiency.

Air cleaners for the home are becoming more efficient and affordable. They also offer more
features including energy efficiency.

There is a lot of information to be considered before purchasing an Air Purifier and
those that are looking to get one are likely to want to find out a lot more information about air purifiers. Even

Winix WAC9500 Ultimate Pet Review

April 6, 2021 by john

The Winix WAC9500 Ultimate Pet True HEPA Air Cleaner forms the cream of the high-end air purifiers in the market. With a streamlined design, it can be integrated into any home that has a rather cosmopolitan design about itself. This machine is designed for use in areas where the highest quality of air is needed such as in a family bedroom, where there are little children who can be sensitive to dust and other allergens.

The machine is quite powerful and it features the best technology in the market to clean the air. The PlasmaWave filter that is built into this machine further adds potency to the HEPA filter cleaning mechanism by making the dust easy to filter and remove. There is also the normal filtration process in the machine that needs the conventional filters and then the HEPA filter, which removes the airborne microorganisms. Testing has shown that this machine is indeed very effective. It was used in a room that faces a busy street in the main financial district of the city where there is ample dust. The air was fit for breathing in no time and considering that this was a rather large room, it can be said that the Winix WAC9500 is suitable for use in almost any location possible irrespective of the type of house and the room that it is to be placed in.

The Winix WAC9500 is great to control the dust levels and even the odor content in the room. If you have an animal such as a cat, this machine can remove all the odor that comes from them. In addition, any lint or fur that is left lying around is effectively removed. The pre filter can be washed when it gets full and needs replacement only when its quality gets so degraded so as to be ineffective. On the other hand, the HEPA filter is very effective and it requires no replacement as it is actually permanent. You merely have to clean it when the indicator shows that it is full.

This air purifier is quite intelligent as it has sensors that set it automatically to the sleep mode when the lights go off and based on the air quality, the power level is adjusted too. The manufacturer claims that this purifier can get rid of 99.99% of the airborne particles thanks to the PlasmaWave technology and based on the testing, it does seem true as users have reported a drastic decrease in their allergies and the like after they started using this machine.

This machine is very efficient in terms of power consumption too. It consumes only around 17W at the high power mode and can clean the air in a medium sized bedroom about 5 times in an hour. With this machine in place, there is nothing to worry about it in terms of the airborne diseases department.

There are hardly any downsides to this machine. In fact, it performs with such a low noise level that you will have to check if it is indeed running. Moreover, the maintenance of this is very low and you will save a lot of money in the later stages despite the higher initial investment. The only thing that can be improved is that the sleep mode should turn on right away rather than wait a while after the lights are turned off and the buttons for this mode should be made readily available. This is a great machine and a worthwhile investment.

    Pros

  • Very effective cleaning with the PlasmaWave technology
  • Pre filter can be cleaned with ease
  • Sensors work great for sleep mode

    Cons

  • Sleep mode setting should be made easier

Winix PlasmaWave 5300 Review

April 6, 2021 by john

The Winix PlasmaWave 5300 stands tall and streamlined in a medium sized room and it performs to the level of an industrial air purifier. That might be a slight exaggeration but its ability to skim through dirt in the air is pretty impressive and makes for a good corner tool in the living room or large bedroom. The machine is quiet and it has some interesting features that let it stand apart from the crowd.

The first thing that you will notice about the machine is the design. It has a vertical grill on the front that make the air purifier look rather streamlined as opposed to the conventional horizontal grill and vents. The body has a good brushed metal-like finish and it goes with any of the modern homes, but with air purifiers, aesthetics are not your first priority, right? Anyway, coming to the performance of the machine, it features the standard three-stage air filtration system starting with a pre-filter, followed by a plasma generator and a HEPA filter. The most impressive in these three is easily the plasma generator that can tackle polluting particles in air, which are invisible to the eye. The HEPA filter does just what the name says. It is very efficient when it comes to getting rid of bacterial and other allergens to keep the air breathable. The carbon pre-filter does most of the noticeable job as it traps the larger dust particles and filters the air to free it from foul odors and the like.

The machine tests good with rooms as large as 350-sq.ft but it can be stretched a little beyond that. Standard tests on this machine revealed that it was capable of improving the air quality in the room to near perfection and that too quite quickly. The interesting aspects of this machine come in the features of it. The most useful one is the presence of a sensor that takes care of the fan speed automatically. This means that you do not have to take pains in adjusting the speed manually and changing it when you feel you had enough.

The Winix PlasmaWave 5300 is rated to be pollutant free and it doesn’t emit any annoying gases like ozone. Moreover, it happens to be quite energy efficient, as certified by the agencies. The machine is fairly quiet and if you use the auto control, you can’t adjust the noise level, which gets slightly loud at high power levels. There are also air quality indicators on the front of the machine for your convenience and information.

This machine has been designed to perfection and it is fairly small too for the power it packs. It can sit in a corner of the room and do its job quietly. However, if you have to use the high power setting, make sure that it is done only for a small period of time, as we noticed some slight heating in the machine. In addition, the turbo feature, which is used for a rapid cleanup, works great but the downside is the sound that the machine makes in this mode. The included remote control is great to adjust the machine from a distance and it has its own little enclosure on top of the machine to keep the remote from getting misplaced. On the whole, a great machine to keep at home, especially in living rooms.

    Pros

  • Powerful and effective cleaning
  • Filters are effective and remove a lot of the particles
  • Automatic fan speed control

    Cons

  • Turbo mode is quite noisy
  • Slight heating issues
