CowayUSA AP1512HH Review

April 25, 2021 by john

Coway-USA AP-1512HH is one came out on top in most of the categories, After searching around various review sites which directly compare specifics (such as airflow, noise rating, price per filter, etc), but I was still skeptical. I’m actually astounded by the satisfaction I have with this air filter.

After months of use now, I can say that there’s really not much to complain about. The system is whisper-quiet (literally), moves a tremendous amount of air, and sings a little tune when you turn it off or on (much to my delight).

The interface is quite simple to use, and the air quality indicator actually does something (it’s not a gimmick). This system is a must-have for people looking for a quiet, powerful, actually HEPA-quality air filter!

This is a high quality air purifier that is not bad on the wallet. The best thing about it, is that the filter replacements aren’t crazy expensive. There are cheaper alternatives out there but you get what you pay for. It will clear the air in a decent size room in no time.

The ionizer works great. This thing is light and stable but can get in the way. It can get loud but only at its highest setting. It only blows up so can’t really be used as a fan, but it does get the air flow going in your room. I notice a greater quality of life since getting this product and I am extremely happy with it.

Despite cleaning the affected area(s) there is still that subtle, yet lingering odor of dog pee, not to mention the general “dog smell” that occurs by just simply having a pooch. Since I bought this machine I can’t believe what a difference it has made!

My room (which is huge) actually smells nice now! It also helps clear the room after vacuuming and dusting. Our vacuum has what seems like a dozen different filters on it but when I empty it dust still goes everywhere. Dust flies everywhere when I clean the furniture as well.

As I first start cleaning I can see the air quality indicator turn red, but after just a few minutes on high it turns blue and the room is nice and fresh again. So far I’m really happy with this air purifier. Oh, and it’s not all huge and it looks pretty cool too.

I’m an indoor allergy suffer, and this purifier is amazing. After running this in my bedroom with the door closed for a few hours I could tell the air was cleaner. The odd, untraceable odor in my new apartment was gone. If I leave this off all day, I can come home and smell the odor again, but after a couple of hours of running this purifier it’s gone again. Well worth the money.

It’s large, and the fan moves a lot of air. The ECO mode is great; it will shut off until it detects dirty air, then turn back on again for a while. Top panel controls are easy to understand and use. Front panel and filters are easy to remove and replace.

This particular air purifier works perfectly in our bedroom. During the night, we run it on setting one or two and during the day, we run it on Eco. As recommended, I have cleaned the filters every two weeks (not the HEPA).

I am amazed at what gets trapped in the filters. The filters are easy to access and easy to clean. The fan is quite quiet and we hardly know it is operating. I would highly recommend this air purifier, especially for people with allergies.

Desktop Air Purifier Reasons To Use One

April 25, 2021 by john

The Convenience of a Desktop Air Purifier

More now than ever, people are becoming very conscious of the air that they are breathing. Whether they are at home, in the office, in a hotel room or even camping, people are really concerned about the air that they take in every second of their life. Not all ventilation units are made the same and with the growing viruses and bacteria that are affecting our lives, it is important that we take steps to clean the air around us. One of the best ways to do that is to use a desktop air purifier.

A desktop air purifier gives us the much needed clean air that we want with the portability of having it wherever we go. They are extremely convenient, taking up very little space on our desk so you can simply pack it in your car and go whenever you want to. It gives you your own personal clean air without having to worry about what kind of ventilation system is available where you are. Quiet as well, no one will even realize you have it, but you will know you are getting fresh air without worrying about pollutants, bacteria and viruses.

Using a Desktop Air Purifier for Traveling

Traveling is certainly a time where a desktop air purifier will come in handy. If it seems that whenever you go on a business trip or a personal trip with the family you come home sick, you are not imagining it. You are staying in hotel rooms where hundreds of people stayed before you and who knows what pollutants or bacteria have been in the room. If you suffer from allergies, you have no idea if there were pets in the room or if they smoked. Since you can’t always check about what kind of ventilation system the hotel has, it helps to bring along a desktop purifier with you. They are lower in cost than the traditional sizes and still offer you a way to clean at least some of the air in the room to make sure you eliminate some of the risk of getting sick or having asthma attacks.

Other Reasons to Use a Desktop Air Purifier

Besides traveling, there are a lot of other reasons to use a desktop air purifier. The best reason to use one is at the office. Considering how many people are coming in and out of your office or cubicle, you never know when they will contaminate your area with bacteria or other pollutants that can hinder your good breathing. Another great area is a small den or guest room where you may not have the need for a larger air purifier. When you go camping, you can use an air purifier for your cabin or even your tent. You can just plug it and know that you are breathing air as fresh as outside. With very little maintenance and the ability to filter everything from dust to pet dander, you can use a desktop air purifier almost anywhere.

How to Use a Desktop Air Purifier

Now you know why to use a desktop purifier, but you need to know how to use one to get the most benefits from it. In order to keep your space fresh and odor free, you should take great care to keep your air purifier running well and in the right position to give you the best chances of eliminating the common pollutants. You should start by cleaning a spot on your desk or wherever you are putting it so that it can sit permanently there. IT should be positioned as close to your seat as possible and make sure the area is free from papers or stuff that can stop the air flow. It should have at least 6 to 8 inches in total of clearance around it. Using a power strip, plug the air purifier in and turn it on. For at least 3 months you can keep it running, making sure to change the air filter after that time so you can keep receiving the clean air. Lastly, make sure to wipe down the surface of the desktop air purifier monthly to give it the best chance of working well.

Best Selling Desktop Air Purifiers

There are several great smaller air purifiers on the market perfect for the desktop. The first, the Alen T100 offers a HEPA air filter along with an activated carbon filter that contains an ozone safe ionizer that works effectively in smaller spaces. It eliminates mold spores, dust mites, along with pollen, dust and pet dander. Promoting a healthy environment, this desktop purifier may be small in size but large on effectiveness. Another great air purifier for the desk is the Hamilton Beach True Air Allergen Reducer which is equipped with a permanent filter for almost no maintenance at all. All you have to do is vacuum the filter every few months and you will be breathing in clean air year round without the filter costs associated with more traditional air purifiers. Effectively removing 99% of allergens and pollutants, this is a perfect desktop air purifier for anyone who cares about the air around them.

Desktop Air Purifier

When planning to buy a desktop air purifier it is best to have knowledge about the specification of the air purifier. If you are allergic to certain allergens, you can have those filters that will work well against such allergens. You should also compare the prices of the many varieties of desktop air purifiers available in the market before taking your decision. Desktop air purifier helps in sterilizing the air in the room or the house. Working with negative ions and ozone they help in purifying the air around you. This negative ions and ozone reduce the formation of the harmful allergens and bacteria. It is highly useful, when you have a carpet or rug in the room.

Does Utilizing an Air Purifier Advantage the skin

April 25, 2021 by john

Most people who’ve air purifiers set up into their houses achieve this mainly for well being reasons. Air purifiers purify the air by trapping airborne contaminants such as pollen, dander, dust mites and mold. Reducing or eliminating these contaminants in the inside environment helps maintain allergy symptoms and other respiratory illnesses which includes asthma at bay. Curiously, current research has indicated that an sudden benefit of using an air purifier is its impact on the pores and skin. Did You realize That Publicity to Air Pollution Performs a Vital Function in Pores and skin Getting older?

Clinical research carried out around the impact of air pollution on aging showed some instead fascinating results. Researchers in the US, Switzerland and Germany researched the results of pollution around the aging from the skin in a team of 400 women. The extent of aging was assessed using the skin getting older rating known as SCINEXA or rating of intrinsic and extrinsic skin ageing).

The evaluation showed that skin that was exposed to air pollution was much more most likely to develop pigment spots, also sometimes known as liver places. Those that had been exposed to a higher the percentage of soot and particle air pollution had a larger number of pigment spots around the face.

Why does publicity to air pollution set off skin ageing? The theory is polluted air consists of carbon particles which are so little that they enter the physique and boost the production of the pigment melanin, that is what causes the age-related pigment places.

How an Air Purifier Can help Stave off Pores and skin Places

After the outcomes of the above study, researchers happen to be trying to formulate pores and skin creams that will help obstruct the entry from the miniscule carbon particles towards the melanin-producing cells. But until that arrives about, the simplest way to stave off pores and skin aging and pores and skin places is by utilizing an air purifier. It’s impossible to manage the purity from the outdoors air but most of us invest the major component of the day indoors so it makes sense to make use of an indoor purifier that will keep the environment in the house as pure as possible. It might even be really worth using an air purifier in your workplace. Most offices have poor air flow and dusty carpets, which creates a more poisonous atmosphere with much more carbon particles coming in touch together with your skin, that will just speed up the aging of the skin.

Running an air purifier in your home or in the office will help filter out most airborne pollutions which includes carbon, microorganisms and ozone, so none of those toxic substances are available in contact together with your pores and skin. Few Ideas on Using an Air Purifier with Humidifier

The two fundamental requirements for really glowing skin are moisture and pollution-free air. Reduced humidity environments dry out the pores and skin and speed up skin getting older. In the event you live in a really dry local weather, using a humidifier with each other with an indoor air purifier is the greatest method to keep your skin clean, supple and glowing.

Alen BreatheSmart Air Purifier with Customizable Front Cover

April 25, 2021 by john

The Alen BreatheSmart HEPA Air Purifier is built with a stylish and customizable design. I went with this item for the automatic feature, quality and lifetime warranty as it only cost $50 more out of pocket compared to the other brand after much consideration.

It’s a bit larger than appears in images but not too big that it’s a problem. It’s fairly quiet – you can’t hear it on the first settings and on turbo, it sounds like a fan running but is not as loud as my tower fans so I do not have to turn up the TV which is sits right next to.

I’ve noticed that having it near a ceiling air vent can drive it a bit crazy when the AC is on which you’d expect since dusty air is pouring out of the ducts. Sitting away from the vent, it changes settings less. The automatic feature is great as it will keep the air clean using the least of amount of energy.

I plugged this thing in after getting home from work this evening. I wasn’t expecting to notice anything from this. I always get violently ill for a couple days and then it turns into a heavily congested/clogged throat and nose which I’ve had for the past two weeks. After running this for 4 hours in my 700sf apartment, I noticed that my congestion started clearing up…20 minutes later it was gone. My nose and throat are completely clear..! I’m fairly sure it had to be a result of this air filter.

This thing is easy for setup, The BreatheSmart’s features smart sensor technology with intelligent sensor that consistently evaluates your environment in real time and will control the functions of the unit when the auto mode is engaged.

The sensor works perfect I can turn on the oven which is 17 feet away and sensor turns red. Burn some incense in the bed room which about 55 feet away turn red. When on medium and high it a little Noisy, on auto as soon as the air clears up it goes to blue and you can’t even here it. When I first got it I had on for four days straight.

Alen BreatheSmart is very quiet and powerful device. I really love of the technology in this device. The Smart Sensor is great. I love being able to quickly look at the device and see what the current air quality is. It’s very crazy to see how much the air quality drops whenever I cook something 2 rooms away. I didn’t realize the kitchen created that much of a drop in air quality. It’s a very nice and interesting feature.

These filters worked great. It was interesting to see its air quality indicator change colors when some event triggered bad air in the room. If the AC came on the filter knew, or if someone opened the door and smoke came in from the outside. It would turn red and start working harder.

It even knew when I started cooking, and considered this an event to turn red when it smelled food in the air. It has an ‘auto’ speed option so that when it detects bad air it speeds up. It has 4 speeds. You can choose a preferred speed manually, as well, if you want it to remain on one of them.

One of the things that surprised me was how quiet it was. On the lowest setting it is very, very quiet and is only noticeable on its higher settings. Having had a variety of other air filters, this one seems amazing in terms noise level.

It has a filter life indicator and a timer if you want it to run for 4, 8 or 12 hours. It has an ionizer function which produces ions without ozone. It also has a night or ‘lights off’ setting. When you first turn the power button to on, there are a number of indicator lights, as mentioned. If you want to run it in your bedroom at night with no lights, just press the power button again. To turn it completely off, press the power button a third time.

It has a number of different filters that can be ordered separately, or in some cases with the original machine. They range from the basic filter to one designed especially for molds/VOCs and others for smoke, etc.

BreatheSmart work beautifully with the look and feel of your space. It was very simple to put together. The lights are pretty and the plastic housing is very nice. It functions just as described and has made him feel so much better. The machine is a little loud for some. It takes up quite a bit of space compared to other purifiers I have had, which have all been towers.

The noise isn’t horrible and it’s just a blowing sound, not any obnoxious mechanical sound, but we do have to turn up the TV a few notches when watching a movie. The light on the top is cool, as it shows the level of cleanliness of the air. You can see it change to orange or red when the dogs come in the room. You can hear it kick in and know it’s going to take care of you. Overall a great product will make you feel a lot better!

Alen BreatheSmart HEPA Review

April 25, 2021 by john

I am very impressed by the Alen Breathe Smart Air Purifier. I have always been allergic to cat dander and with the new air purifier the entire house is full of clean crisp air. We did not get the odor control filter but even the odors from our tenant cooking down stairs or residual smoke that would find its way into the house from smoking outside has cleared up.

This air purifier is wonderful. I love the automatic setting that will adjust to the level of impurities in the air. When cooking or cleaning litter boxes in the opposite side of the house the purifier will automatically bump up to red and go into overtime. I feel that it has made a huge difference in the air quality and I see a lot less dust particles in the air.

This unit is very quiet. I’ve got it right beside my bed and I’ve got to have silence in order for me to get to sleep. I’ve got it set to auto. It claims it senses particles in the air. It does change speeds on its own so there’s something to its claims. I have noticed the speed changes happen after I do something in the room that would stir up dust. With the unit on the room stays cooler as it circulates the air. Very expensive but I’d still recommend.

Within half an hour we could feel crispier, fresher air in our open living room floor that connects to the almost non-stop working kitchen. We moved the purifier to every room and ran it for about an hour/ each at the beginning. Now we just move it to our bedroom for the night since I have asthma and for the day we keep it in the living room. It’s really light for the size and its power so I have no problems carrying it myself (I’m a petit size 5’2) up and down the stairs.

I absolutely love it and recommend it to everybody having breathing problems. The price might be steep but on the other hand I save on medications because I don’t need them as often as before! And really, I’d rather inhale that “expensive” air than the steroids with gazillions side effects. Buy it!!!

Living in Manhattan NYC, we needed a high-powered air purifier for our apartment, one which would effectively clean the air of small and large particulates while being reasonably quiet and also aesthetically-pleasing in our living room.

The Alen BreatheSmart meets and exceeds all of our requirements. We have an expensive laser-driven air quality monitor and the Alen registers zero particulates in the exhaust airflow, which is perfect. The ability to manually switch the ionizer feature on and off is a real plus as well. We also have a Blue Air 403 (equally fabulous) as well as two Fellowes (AP-300PH & AeroMax 300) and an Alen T100. Our experience is that you get what you pay for in air purifiers. The Alen BreatheSmart is definitely worth the extra money. Highly recommend!

I turned it on turbo and let it run for a week straight to clean the air before turning it to auto which it stays on all the time now. It really does take all the “smells” out of the house. As soon as the door opens it kicks on high and gets to work immediately.

Before I turned it on I cleaned all the ceiling fans in the house to check the cleaning ability of the purifier and it has kept almost all of the dust from collecting around the house for 2 months now. Usually my wife has to dust at least 1 time a week, but this thing is amazing. The allergies in the house have dramatically been reduced and it really does cover the entire house very efficiently. I love this thing.

I’m definitely happy so far.

The unit is light, for its size, and it is very accommodating with all the settings you can program. I keep it on automatic and it speeds up and slows down fan speed when detecting pollutants in the air. As I cook a lot I noticed when I am broiling or frying food when the odors from cooking reach the unit it detects them and speeds up.

This unit seems to do what it claims though I was somewhat reluctant to pay the price of admission. But in just a couple of day’s use of the BreatheSmart, my wife’s eyes have stopped itching when she wakes up in the morning. And my stuffy nose and breathing have improved. This is a solidly built, sizable machine; its quiet mode is quieter than any other air processing machine that we have ever owned. In the final analysis, healthier lung function and reduced allergies, along with reduced use of pharmaceuticals, is why we bought this unit, and better health is worth paying for.

We were suffering from the fire situation on the west coast and needed something to help fast. My spouse has COPD and my dog has bronchitis. Both were in bad shape this summer, but these filters worked great.

One of the things that surprised me was how quiet it was. On the lowest setting it is very, very quiet and is only noticeable on its higher settings. Having had a variety of other air filters, this one seems amazing in terms noise level. We liked this first one so much we bought two more. Now our indoor air is incredibly clean and the family is breathing fine.

Alen A350 Air Purifier Review

What You Need to Know about the Alen a350 Air Purifier

As one of the top selling air purifiers on the market, the Alen a350 air purifier has almost everything you could want; an affordable price, a quality purification system and sustainability. This is due in part because of the quality of air purifiers that Alen Corporation manufacturers. Founded in only 2005, Alen Corporation has grown by leaps and bounds over the past five years.

Known for their quality at low prices, Alen was one of the first companies to begin offering a lifetime warranty on their products while utilizing the latest technology to bring you the very best purifier it could build. Also, they are greatly known for their innovative designs rather than the same unattractive designs people had been buying for years from other manufacturers. They started with the Paralda which was their first high performance air purifier and it also had a great design to it so that people could feel good about putting it in any room of the house. Now with retail and online stores, Alen Corporation is one of the leaders in air purifiers.

The Alen Air Purifier Filtration System

As you will find with most of the Alen air purifiers, the Alen a350 air purifier offers multi-filtration technology. Not only do they have the HEPA filtration system, but they also are leaders in the ionizer, UV and photo-catalytic oxidation system which are all ecologically friendly. The Silver Ion HEPA filtration eliminates up to 99% of the bacteria in the air as well as up to 50% of viruses. Added to that, they purify the air to eliminate up to 99% of the airborne allergens which keep you healthy and breathing well. Coated with silver ion, the germs within the unit stop developing and can prevent bacteria from being blown into the air while reducing fungi in the home. Lastly, through a complex process, it can literally destroy up to 650 types of bacteria making it one of the leading products ever made within the air purifier market.

The Alen a350 Air Purifier System Description

Affordable, yet incredibly effective, the Alen a350 can purify the air in a room up to 800 square feet. It eliminates all of the major pollutants such as dust mites, pet dander, pollen, dust, mold spores as well as other large particles. It uses the HEPA filtration system and is Energy Star rated which means that it is very cost effective as well as efficient. It not only works on typical pollutants in the home but also ash and wildfires so it can be used everywhere. It offers low filter replacement costs and it is very low maintenance making it easy to use for anyone. The Alen a350 air purifier uses four speed settings and offers a 12 hour timer as well as a wall mountable space saving design along with traditional floor placement. The Alen a350 Air Purifier Technical Specifications

With four air changes per hour this 120 Volt air purifier system consumes very little energy. Even at the highest speed it only uses about 90W of energy consumption which is little more than a light bulb. The noise is quite low making it easy to get a sound sleep at night and it offers up to 99% of the room coverage, far and above most other air purifiers. With a filter life of up to 9 months, there is little maintenance and at only 16 pounds, it is quite versatile and able to be moved if needed.

Alen a350 Air Purifier Reviews

Although the Alen a350 is a relative new model, it is highly competitive with other models that are set to purify the same amount of square feet. After major testing it does indeed give consumers what it promises which is about 99% removal of particles in and around the unit as well as 97% of particles around the room which makes for excellent efficiency. Competitively priced as well, even the most budget conscious can afford it. That isn’t even taking into consideration how inexpensive it is to maintain which is less than $100 a year, making it a good value well into the future as compared to other air purification systems. With benefits such as an ozone free negative ionizer and all the other benefits that the Alen a350 air purifier contains, this is surely a good buy for anyone looking for a quality air purifier.

Air Purifier Reviews 4 Key Elements Design was launched

April 25, 2021 by john

Formerly, the Air Purifier Reviews – 4 Key Elements Design was launched. A detailed survey according to that design was sent to several important air purifier manufacturers. Sadly, save for 1, nobody else responded. It’s puzzling, to mention the least, for them to disregard customers of air purifiers. Do they not make them for end customers like us? Are we not probably the most likely to purchase an air purifier? The muted reaction is disheartening but we’re not about to abandon our efforts to build an info database for all users and possible users of air purifiers to make well-informed choices.

Further to our most current post, we have now included Scientific Peer Evaluation as the fifth important element in our air purifier reviews model. Even though it’s most likely to draw a blank within the foreseeable long term, it’s unavoidable. First of all, the starkness may inspire someone to become the debutante in creating the first acknowledged scientific peer review for an air purifier technologies.

But much more significantly, the lack of scientific peer reviews is really a major stumbling obstruct to the air purification business. It has didn’t win over essential individuals and interested events like the scientific neighborhood (indoor air quality experts, academics, environmentalists and activists). And most important of all, it’s not garnered the endorsement of government companies like the US EPA and NIOSH and the medical neighborhood who deal with allergy issues as well as other medical circumstances blamed on indoor pollution.

Missing in ALL air purification technologies

There is not a single air purifier reviews that contains a scientific peer evaluation. Be aware this issue isn’t confined only to the ionic air purifier business. It also plagues all other technologies in the air purifier business, be it the venerable HEPA and also the new-kid-on-the-block (fairly speaking) photo-catalytic oxidation, and so on.

Why does nobody within the air purification industry taken cognizance of this? Rather, the industry focuses its efforts on convincing the customer. Hundreds of thousands are invested on advertising. Good money that could have been much better invested. Why are they blind towards the fact the customer base would multiply manifold if only there is 1, just 1 scientific peer evaluation?

It’s a no brainer. As an integral part of any air purifier reviews, the scientific peer evaluation is the holy grail of the air purifier business. Whoever gets it first might well have exactly the same mythical energy of management within the multimillion dollar business.

Given the superlative (an understatement) importance of the scientific peer review, the greatest mystery is why nobody has deemed it worthwhile to create just one evaluation. It’s comprehensible that no air purifier manufacturer has commissioned 1 since that might negate the independence element that is central to some scientific peer review.

What is puzzling is why no scientist or researcher, especially the most qualified ones in the indoor air high quality or environmental sciences disciplines, considers it worthwhile to complete an air purifier reviews. Being the first to create a acknowledged scientific peer review inside a multimillion business should certainly put 1 in the highlight and open funding doorways of further research. And we know that preliminary funding isn’t a problem as we’ve a immediate quote in the US NIOSH that it’s ready to fund a scientific peer evaluation that is professionally drawn up using the requisite parameters.

That no scientist or researcher is prepared to embark around the quest to get a truly impartial scientific peer review begs the million greenback query – will be the air purification industry a large fraud on the consumer? Or do the scientists view it like a futile task similar to searching for the Holy Grail – reality that cannot be grasped?

The inability to answer these intriguing concerns drives us to greater inquiry with our 5-Key Elements Design. The reticence of producers to complete our survey questions according to the said design piques us to delve deeper on Air Purifier Reviews.

Air Purifiers for Allergies

April 25, 2021 by john

Millions of Americans develop breathing/respiratory problems if they breathe in air containing a variety of particulate (organic) matter (allergens) such as dust, pollen grains, fungal spores, mite, fibers, or pet hair) in our homes. More distressing is the fact that more children under five have become more prone to respiratory problems caused by allergies/asthma. The EPA, the American Lung Association (ALA) and even the Institute of Medicine, appreciate and recommend air filtration for people with allergies and asthma, not as a solution, but for alleviating the distressing symptoms of allergy/asthma.

When we speak of allergy air-purifiers, we are talking of airborne allergens such as: dust, pet hair, fungi/molds, mite allergens, fibers, etc. There are many air-purifiers designed especially to tackle these allergens. So, which one will you choose? Knowing the source of your allergy helps a lot. If you are unsure, consult your doctor. If you plan to rid your home of allergens, you can choose from HEPA, ionic, activated charcoal and UV air purifiers/filters. A high percentage of allergy healthcare specialists recommend HEPA allergy air-purifiers.

HEPA filters were first developed for NASA’s space shuttle. HEPA is an industry standard in air-purification. An air-filter with HEPA certification means it must be 99.97% effective at removing airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns. Many companies sell HEPA air purifiers, some much better in quality than others. The best have 5-10 year warranties on the machines themselves. HEPA filters must be periodically changed for optimum performance and longevity of your air purifier.

Ionic Purifiers (Ionizers)

Standalone Ionic air-purifiers do not need their filters replaced. When particulate matter comes into a stream of negatively charged ions emitted by an ionizer, the particles become negatively charged and cling to curtains, walls, or fall to the floor, away from the air you breathe. Though they don’t eliminate all allergens from the air, ionizers are noiseless and cheap.

*Note: You are advised to keep away from Ionic Purifiers (for indoor air-purification) that use ozone in their systems.

Electrostatic (Electronic) Air-Cleaners

Electrostatic precipitation air-purifiers are available as portable and whole-house models. The latter are installed by connecting them to the cold-air return plenum on your home-heating furnace. They are quite efficient and remove around 95% of dirt and 85% of microscopic particles. You can get further details of whole-house electronic air cleaners from domestic central-heating contractors. Installing electrostatic air-cleaners costs between $300 and $900, depending on the features you choose.

UV Air-Purifiers

If you have a problem with mold or bacteria, a UV air-purifier is an appropriate choice. These air purifiers emit UV light, which kills microbes such as mold, fungus, bacteria, and even viruses. UV air-purifiers range from a single-room appliance, to an advanced air-purifier that covers a large area by combining five filters – HEPA, Activated Carbon, pre and post filters and four UV lamps.

Activated Carbon Filters are great in absorbing chemical pollutants. They change contaminants from gases to solids. Activated carbon is porous, and can adsorb volatile chemicals that are molecular in size, but not larger particles.

Ozone Air-Purifiers

The only absolutely safe use of ozone generating air-purifiers is in uninhabited rooms.

Summary

In conclusion, a carefully chosen HEPA or its combination with other filtration systems is your best bet to tackle a majority of pollutants and toxins in the air you breathe.

Air Purifiers Ratings

April 25, 2021 by john

Where do you find the best air purifiers rankings?

That’s a particularly important question, since many websites claiming to be independent reviewers are just sales outlets for specific purifiers. And which do you think they rank highest? Themselves, of course!

Finding purely unbiased independent air purifiers rankings and reviews is a difficult task. But, I love a challenge. So here goes!

Consumer Reports (CR) is probably the best source for independent rankings. Not everybody agrees with their choice of products, but they do an excellent job of testing and, since they don’t sell products, their rankings are impartial.

All air purifiers ranked by CR are tested in a sealed room with specific amounts of dust and smoke released into the space. Each machine is then measured for how effectively they remove these airborne particles, as well as how loud they are. Ratings are listed for both low and high-speed levels.

CR ranks air purifiers every year or two, so those reviewed are usually available in stores. This is good since manufacturers bring out new models all the time.

Air Purifiers America (APA) also does a good job of testing and ranking air purifiers. Even though they sell products, APA seems committed to only selling good quality products to their customers. They do their own testing on a small number of purifiers and are very free with presenting the details of their research. They also rate products based on clean air delivery rates, independent testing and customer feedback. The APA website also provides excellent additional information for buyers of air purifiers.

But most other organizations that rank air purifiers – such as Allergy Buyers Club, James Dulley (a syndicated columnist) and Consumer Guide – mainly rely on anecdotal and subjective opinions rather than actual product testing. For the most part, they focus their air purifiers rankings on such factors as cost and noise levels and not on removal of odors, dust and allergens.

I also have considerations about two other organization for air purifiers rankings – the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) and Epinions.

Follow this link to read about

AHAM Room Air Cleaner Product Certification Program

Explanation of Epinions and directly to Review Room Air Purifier

In order to get an AHAM certification, companies need to pay several thousand dollars. Now, I’m not saying these are definitely paid endorsements. However, paying for certification is questionable – sort of a legal form of blackmail. Besides that, having an AHAM certification doesn’t mean the air purifier is good. It only means the company was willing to pay to be included. Surely there are manufacturers of great products who choose not to spend their marketing money in this way.

As far as Epinions goes, I’m all for everyone voicing their own opinion about products they’ve purchased or experienced. And there’s certainly no harm in checking out the opinions of others while you’re in the process of doing your research – you may pick up some extremely valuable information. But, even though Epinions may be fun and interesting, I wouldn’t base my decision only on this one source.

You’d be better off checking out the air purifiers’ rankings of Consumer Reports and Air Purifiers America before making your final choice. That is, if you want to make sure you get the best!

It will provide you the rating seal for the air purifier. The report is provided for pollen, dust and tobacco particles. CADR is tested with the highest fan speed. So, keep this in mind when doing the same.

Safety

Most air purifiers from almost all major brands are safe to use in both home and office. However, some models may produce ozone and other gas chemicals known to cause irritants of respiratory system and can even aggravate asthma. Many states in the US, for instance, California has already banned ozone based air purifiers for home use.

Air Purifying Performance

The design and built of a hepa filter air purifier usually determine the performance. Make sure you match the product’s specifications with the kind of performance you expect or actually need. For instance, if you require filtering odor from air, you need a model with high quality carbon filters. Most low end air purifiers are equipped with carbon filters, but have limited ability to remove smells. This can be a problem for households having pets and even teenage boys with some bad lifestyle habits.

But, you should not get carried away with all the features being offered because in the end, the only and most important is how good the air purifying unit. Here are some that you must focus on while buying. Others may be compromised if you have a unit featuring all the listed features.

Hepa filter is primarily designed to remove 99.97% of pollutant particles of size 0.3mm and larger. In fact, HEPA air purifiers have become quite common in the market. They are reliable, work well and have proven to be safe and effective. The only problem is that HEPA filters need to be replaced regularly to maintain the efficacy of the system.

In the market, the term “True HEPA” is quite common and companies makes sure that customers get attracted by this feature as it means that their purifiers are HEPA certified and meet the required standard. Since true HEPA filters cannot be washed, you need to replace them regularly, depending upon the requirements of your make and model.

Ionizer

Ionizer use electronically charged plates to pull air pollutants from the environment. It follows the law of Physics, where we learned that static electricity pulls hairs standing. This is exactly how Ionizer works. Best part is that it does not need filter replacement. But, you need to clean it regularly as the plates get covered with dusts and dirt that can lead to formation of rust.

Carbon filter

These days most air purifiers make use carbon filter that chemically bind odors from the present environment. Since HEPA filters are not enough to remove odor, having a model with additional benefit of carbon filter will help you get best benefits. Air Purifier Reviews – Researching The Air You Breathe

For allergy sufferers, nothing is more crucial than having a good air purifier, and our air purifier reviews will help you make a great decision. Most reviews agree that it can make the difference between a comfortable day or a runny nose, burning eyes, and a sore throat. Air purifiers are used to remove microscopic particles of allergens from the air. These can be from smoke, dust, mold spores, pet dander, or pollen. Most reviews will tell you, correctly, that the HEPA filter is the most effective at getting rid of airborne pollutants.

HEPA stands for “High Efficiency Particulate Air.” To be certified as a HEPA filter in the United States, a filter must adhere to standards set by the United States Department of Energy. The main standard is that the filter must remove 99.97 percent of airborne particles 0.3 micrometers or larger in diameter. Virtually all air purifier reviews are about purifiers with HEPA filters.

Most HEPA filters have at least three layers of fibers, and can trap particles by three methods: interception, impaction, and diffusion. When looking at air purifier reviews, just remember the most important thing about the HEPA filter is that it removes those 99.97 percent of airborne particles. That will greatly increase the quality of your air, while decreasing the chances of allergic reactions to pollutants.

Air Purifier Reviews – Nice Clean Air

Another thing that you want to see in air purifier reviews is the CADR, or Clean Air Delivery Rate. Often, there are three CADR values on an air purifier. One is for smoke, one for pollen, and one for dust. Some air purifier reviews just have one general or average number. Basically, the higher the number, the better the filter.

The other main thing you will want from air purifier reviews is how many times the purifier filters the air in a room in how many hours, and what its capacity is. You more air purfied more times per hour. For example “300 square feet 4 times per hour is not as good as 400 square feet 4 times per hour.” It this is too much to bother with, just remember to make sure the purifier has a capacity large enough or larger than the room you are using it in.

Last but not least, try to use companies with a track record of success. Many air purifier reviews cover the “Johnny-come-latelys,” but the products recommended on this website are from two companies with long-standing records of commitment to putting out great products. Both companies have unparallelled records of standing behind their products.

Our Highest Rated Air Purifier Reviews

#1 – Whirlpool AP51030K Whispure Air Purifier, HEPA Air Cleaner

The Whirlpool AP51030K Whispure Air Purifier, HEPA Air Cleaner is our number one recommended air purifier. Customer reviews from this unit are overwhelmingly positive, and for good reason. The Whispure Air Purifier effectively filters a room up to 500 square feet, 4.8 times per hour, with a CADR rating of 315. It has electronic controls and four fan speeds. It also has a turbo setting and a sleep mode. Customer reviews like the convenience.

The Whispure Air Purifier has a HEPA filter, and removes 99.97 percent of airborne pollutants 0.3 microns or larger. It also has a charcoal filter that does a lot of the work before the air even gets to the HEPA filter. Air purifier reviews mention that the air smells better. This is because charcoal is particularly good at removing odors from the air.

The Whispure Air Purifier also has the patented Quiet Partner technology for quiet, high-efficiency operation. Though some customer air purifier reviews mention noise, many state that they do just fine on lower settings, even next to their bed. And if you decide the Whispure Air Purifier is too noisy for you, you have a full 30 days to return it for your money back. Nobody in the air purifier reviews, though, has sent theirs back.

There are also two filter replacement lights that warn when either the HEPA or charcoal filter needs to be replaced, and built in handles to easily move the Whispure Air Purifier from room to room.

Across the board, users are impressed with how well this air purifier works. The reviews have mentioned cats, dogs, pollen, dust, and just about every air pollutant known to man, and almost everyone is happy with their Whispure Air Purifier.

#2 – Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier

The Honeywell 50250N 99.97% Pure HEPA Round Air Purifier is our second-best choice, and we will review it for you here. The Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier is designed for rooms up to 390 square feet, which is 78 of the capacity of the unit reviewed above. It has a glass fiber HEPA filter that removes the standard pollutants: dander, smoke, pollen, dust, and mold spores.

The Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier has a CADR rating of 250 for pollen, dust, and smoke. Honeywell doesn’t provide a number of how many times per hour it will filter a 390 square foot room, but it has gotten reviews that say it is more than adequate for a room that size. Doing the math from above, the Honeywell 50250N Air Purifier will filter the air in a 390 foot room between 4 and 5 times an hour.

While this isn’t as good as the larger Whirlpool unit, it is great for an air purifier this size. The comments in the reviews are mostly about how people are amazed that it works so well. It works on pretty much everything.

The only negatives are that is is a little loud and that it won’t clean as much air as the Whirlpool will. That being said, if you don’t need a larger air purifier, this is a great step down, and you will get the same results as the reviews stated.

#3 – Honeywell 18155

The Honeywell SilentComfort is for people who only need to purify a room of 197 square feet or less. That is 14 feet by 14 feet, or approximately the size of a small to medium bedroom. It can process a 197 square foot room 5 times in 1 hour. It has a CADR of 150.

Most of them commented that the Honeywell 18155 SilentComfort Air Purifier is very quiet, and does a great job of getting rid of all pollutants. The negatives are that some people don’t like the amount of noise on the high speed, and that the unit is larger than they thought it would be.

Air Purifier Reviews: Clearing the Air

We hope these air purifier reviews have been helpful. Just remember that the larger the capacity and the larger the CADR number, the better the air purifier is.

With these air purifier reviews, you should hopefully be able to make a strong and informed decision. Take some other air purifier reviews into consideration in addition to our guides to help guide you on your way to breathing the cleanest air ever while taking our air purifier reviews into consideration.
