Living Fresh 3500 Review

April 25, 2021 by john

Living Fresh 3500 SQF Ozone Ionizer Cleaner does a very good job of cleaning the air and removing the toxins to make the room easier to breathe. This unit works every bit as well as the higher price units.

It is an air purifier and within minutes of plugging it and setting it on medium, the pet odors, tobacco odors and any other odors were essentially gone. I turned down the Ozone generator so as to not overdo things and have been enjoying a very fresh and clean smelling house that only hour before smelled like a zoo.

The Ozone binds with the molecules that are creating the smell and neutralize them while the Ionizer helps to change the electrical properties of air born particles so they are no longer able to float around and fall to the floor where I capture them during routine vacuuming sessions.

Be aware that Living Fresh 3500 is very powerful and it is designed to be that way. It’s supposed to take care of a whole house so if you’re using it in one or two rooms you will likely never have to turn the dial past Medium. If you ever even find the need to go that high in the first place. It’s definitely nice to know I’ve got all the power I could need to deal with any and all pollutants in my in home air.

Living Fresh 3500 is most impressive were the high quality switches. They feel strong, turning smooth with solid on/off clicks. The Ozone generator is off the charts!

In fact, the unit is so powerful; we only plan on using it to eliminate cooking odors.

It’s not only a good air purifier, but to purchase a unit that covers 3500 sq.ft you have to pay $400.00 and above. This unit does everything the seller says it will do. I was also happy that it has the Ozone option that cleans kitchen smells and any kind of odors that you find unpleasant. I suffered from very bad allergies, but not anymore.

I have been delighted with this machine, and it does everything promised. (You can’t beat the price, either.) This is the only type of air cleaner that eliminates the odors associated with having animals in one’s home. I have also used it, successfully, to clean the air in a vehicle after a young child vomited in it. (Nothing I could do would rid the car of that unpleasant odor.) I simply put the machine in the vehicle, turned it up to high, and left it overnight. It worked!

I also successfully used it to rid a rental property of the last tenant’s smells and odors left from unclean people with non-existent cleaning habits. I couldn’t be happier and recommend this product to anyone looking to have their home or office smell fresh.

Living Fresh 3500 impressed me right off with its’ sturdy construction and heft. The solid cherry wood and tight construction impressed. I have seen extremely similar products to this one claiming to do the very same thing and costing several hundred dollars more.

This product has clear and simple instructions. Just insert the two ceramic plates in the two slots in the back and plug it in. I set the ozone switch to the lowest setting and the negative ionizer on the high setting.

Within minutes, it changed the atmosphere throughout my bedroom. I work out with kettle bells in my bedroom and it was beginning to smell like a gym locker room and despite the fact that my sense of smell is pretty nonexistent, it was starting to get to even me, so I bought this. Within that first hour, it changed from stinky socks to a clean fresh smell exactly like that smell outdoors right after a rainstorm or a thunderstorm.

Within two hours, my entire house has gone through a transformation in the atmosphere. It actually smells clean and fresh.

It is incredibly well made, gorgeous cherry wood case, and the adjustment knobs are of a quality of years gone by, solid, smooth and amazing. This little guy made my whole house smell amazing in under an hour! The replaceable plates are super easy, they just slide in. No filters to clean another plus.

Mold Air Purifiers

April 25, 2021 by john

The NRDC gives the following advice based on its findings: molds release spores, which get air borne and cause the most persistent lung diseases. Air purifiers play a significant role in the elimination of fungi from cold, damp, dark corners of homes. When mold-eradication specialists use cleaning agents/chemicals in your home, spores get scattered and airborne. You are advised to turn on your air purifiers simultaneously so that these spores can be eliminated. Spores generally settle in your home during early summer and autumn. For the rest of the year, your skin and lungs are at constant risk. For counteracting this, you can employ professionals for control of fungus and install air-purifiers. As mold and mildew thrive on moisture/humidity, dehumidifiers, air filters/purifiers, vacuum cleaners with a HEPA, vapor steam cleaners and mold resistant bedding – all help prevent mold in your home.

In wet climates, select an air-purifier that can destroy molds. If children are present in the home, install a system that kills most bacteria/viruses. Allergy sufferers need a system that can collect or destroy pet dander, pollen, dust mites, mold spores, mildew, tobacco smoke, or whichever allergen triggers their allergy attacks. Persons with respiration problems caused by lung conditions should be kept away from fragrances or ozone, which would aggravate their suffering. Fumes and viruses are too small to be captured by any filtration device; ozone and negative ions have some effect on them, but the best weapon to destroy them is a UV filter.

Ionizers or Electrostatic filters can be added complementary to HEPA or Ultra HEPA filters(which claim 99.999% air-purification). You can then eliminate everything from dust, pollen and smoke to 0.0001 micron-sized particles. Your best bet for removing airborne spores (mold) is a HEPA air purifier. The best mold air-purifiers are HEPA systems from IQAir, Austin Air, Blueair and Allerair.

Why Air Purifiers for Allergies?

Growing up in a family without air purifiers for allergies has led me on a search for the most direct, maintenance free solution to eliminate allergy symptoms quickly and effectively. There are a lot of different indoor triggers for allergy symptoms; pet hair, pollen, mold etc. More and more respiratory doctors are discovering that air purifiers adequately slash the amount of pollen in your home.

Air Purifiers for Allergies make your air breathable again.

If your either just now experiencing symptoms from your in home air quality or have moved to a new location where the air quality is less than pleasing, your not alone. Many people are affected by seasonal allergies and other symptoms that air pollutants cause, and like you, are dying to find the most effective solution. Those who search long enough eventually come to understand that HEPA technology is the answer to restore your optimism in your family’s in home air quality……and this is how it works.

How can a HEPA Filter drastically reduce allergy causing air contaminants?

High Efficiency Particulate Arresting, or HEPA, filters work to filter air pollutants by forcing the air in your home through a fine multi-layered mesh sheet. The filter traps up to 99.97% of allergy symptom inducing air pollutants stopping allergies at the source.

Don’t stop with just cleaning the air. Allergens are commonly found resting in carpets, draperies, beds and other surfaces in your home. In fact, they gather in more abundance on surfaces before they end up in the air. It’s important to note places where allergens may be resting and eliminate them before they end up in the air and inducing sneezes.

Trusted to Deliver Results.

HEPA filters are used and trusted in everything from medical facilities and homes to modern airlines. That’s because these filters are required to meet minimal standards in an efficiency test that is carried out by the United States Department of Energy. The filters are tested to perform accurately and indeed remove up to 99.97% of airborne contaminants. So consumers can rest easy while being assured that HEPA purifiers live up to the standard.

Multi Purpose Air Purifiers

April 25, 2021 by john

A multipurpose air-purifier is generally meant to eliminate everything in the air: dust, spores, pet dander, dust mites, smoke, odors, harmful gases, chemicals and humidity. Usually, such a multipurpose system combines two or more air-cleaning systems such as: a true HEPA system, an activated charcoal system, and a UV filter system. The HEPA air-filter removes allergens like pet dander, pollen, dust, mold, and dust mites. The UV lamp removes 98% of airborne bacteria and viruses and finally, the activated carbon filters eliminate all odors. Some popular models that combine two or all three systems are: The Alen Tower Air Purifier T300, which incorporates an ionizer. This model has proved 1000% better than other ionic air purifiers, and guarantees no harmful ozone dispersion into room air (Price: $300). Another popular multipurpose Air-Purifier is the Airpura R600 Air Purifier.

Oreck Air Purifier

April 25, 2021 by john

Oreck air purifier is the simple device that do not require any specific skills for their use and maintenance. Of course, the repair will have to trust a specialist, and will be able to use even a child.

In oreck air purifier reviews of air flow through the fan consistently blown through the different kinds of filters, which purify the air from certain contaminants. Some oreck air purifier reviews cope well with gas impurities (smoke, different smells, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides), the other oreck air purifier reviews – from mechanical impurities (pet hair, sand, dust, dust mites, pollen). So it is oreck air purifier reviews are used, as a rule, in steps (2-5 degrees), for neutralization of different types of pollution. For example, the model may have three stages of cleaning the air: the strainer, coal and photo-catalytic filters.

The air flow in oreck air purifier reviews is regulated manually switch (or using the buttons on the control unit) or automatically depending on the pollution of air (for more details about detectors pollution explained in the section “Nice options” in oreck air purifier reviews). Basically oreck air purifier reviews with interchangeable filters are represented by the many other brands. In short, you can always choose a model in accordance with the requirements and design preferences. Oreck air purifier reviews Price starts from $80 for the simplest model, and is limited to approximately $200. In the range of $200-500 present cleaners with the function of moisture, ionization, equipped with remote control with multi-stage cleaning system. The cost of the models of premium class is $500-1000, this is the so-called climatic complexes, when several devices are combined in the same housing and the ability to work both simultaneously and separately. Guided when choosing solely on their desires, do not forget to only be interested in the seller, what area can handle had interested you model.

Types of filters in oreck air purifier reviews

Coarse filters Filter is a central part of all of the air purifier; on what type of filter is applied, depends on the degree of purification, and the overall performance of the device. Let’s consider more in detail, what filters for what are used, what works best, and what is worse. Start the description with the “rough “, remove the only large mechanical impurities, then move on to the more advanced.

Filters of rough clearing (net) represent the most usual fine mesh. This preliminary filter, it is designed to remove large particles of dust, sand, wool pets, fluff, and also protects the device from ingress of these contaminants in. Grid on the extent of pollution is washed with or purged with an, thus, the pre-filter can be used repeatedly. For the stable operation of the oreck air purifier reviews it is recommended to clean (or change) filter-mesh 1 time in 2-4 months. Coal (coal-adsorbing filters Coal (coal-adsorbing filters are executed with the use of activated charcoal as a filtering element, known means to fight the toxins. They can eliminate unpleasant smells, gas impurities in the air. Coal bad cleans up easy connections, characteristic for urban air (for example, nitrogen oxides). Thus, carbon filters it is desirable to use as an additional, but not the main. As coal absorb all impurities and is not able to “give” them, then the filter will have to periodically change. The service life of the canister makes up from 3 months to 1 year, the value of $30-40. Electrostatic filter Electrostatic filter (filter-ionizer) (filter-ionizer) is designed for more fine purification of air. The principle of their action is as follows: the air is channelled through the positively charged grid (positive electrode), and then the particles of contaminants deposited on the negatively charged elements (negative electrode). These filters can be used many times, when pollution them just wash your. Lack of filters of this kind is the fact that in the course of their work formed the gas ozone.

Filters HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arresting is a delay of particles) are used not only in domestic appliances, but also in the devices of medical purpose, medical institutions and laboratories. This is due to the fact that they catch up to 98% of allergens and pollutants size more than 0.3 microns. Filters of this type are disposable, their service life is 1 year, the value of $25-35. Synthesis filters are the last generation of filtering elements for oreck air purifier reviews. Today it is the most effective option, but also the most expensive. The principle of its action consists in splitting of all impurities, passing through the filter to harmless components under the action of UV-radiation. He is able to destroy the particles of a size to 0,001mcm, and this is the size of the virus, the smallest molecule. In addition, its effectiveness is not changing in the course of time, being always at the primary level. It is also the most durable of all replaceable filters: a life of 2-6 years, and the cost is$80-120.

Nice options

Oreck air purifier reviews first of all, I want to note a small power consumption of oreck air purifier reviews, it usually does not exceed 50-60 W (and, more often it is 20-35 W) the model of the medium price range, and therefore, they are quite cost-effective. Also very small and the level of noise produced by cleaners. This is an important indicator, because often the air cleaner has to work round the clock, including at night in the bedroom. Most of the noise in any air cleaner produces fan, and, consequently, in “night mode” his speed will be the least of the possible. Most manufacturers take account of this requirement and create models, the noise level from which does not exceed 37 Db (it is believed that with this value of the instrument is not distracting man, does not prevent him from sleep). Also the noise level depends on the type used in cleaner filters, namely, in order to ensure the running of air through HEPA filter, need a more powerful (and, consequently, more noisy) fan. However, the manufacturers claim that the noise level remains within the norm. Now you can find air cleaners, whose work is almost неслышна (in the mode of “sleep”, 16 Db). Air purifier As promised, we shall list separately those options and additional features that make daily use of cleaner air becomes more comfortable and enjoyable:

the timer allows you to set the time of switching on and off of the device;

remote control. It is especially useful if the air cleaner is set so that approached him to switch the operation mode uncomfortable;

adjusting the fan speed. This function is used to switch the air cleaner in the other mode of operation – for example, for the night mode is set, the lowest speed, thus reducing the noise level produced. Possible modes “sleep”, “turbo” , etc.;

detectors pollution. Some models of air purifiers are equipped with infrared detectors track the amount of pollution (gas and dust) in the air. When the number of particles in the field of the detector exceeds a certain initially set value, the air cleaner will automatically turn on. The detector can not only include clean air, but also control the device, reducing/increasing the fan speed (and hence, the intensity of work);

display. Usually air cleaners are fitted with lcd displays, which displays information on the current mode, the operation time of the device; an air Purifier

the indicators. Your air purifier can have additional indicators, with the help of which you can get more information about operating the instrument, for example, an indicator of the condition of the filters, the ambient air. As a rule, it is not just an air purifier, and climatic complex of premium-class;

aromatization. This feature is available in models of different classes: air purifier such additional flavored (although almost always have the ability to add aromatic substances independently, for example, in the water, if the design of the device allows to use it – cleaning of air, or cleaner, humidifier).

The air inside your home can be five to ten times dirtier than the outside air. This is due to your house being “sealed” as much as possible, not allowing air to flow freely thru your house is necessary to make it energy efficient and overall more comfortable to live in. Since most Americans spend the overwhelming majority of their time indoors it is extremely important to purify the inside air.

Finding an air purifier to suit your needs can be a daunting task due to the varying technologies and large number of options. This article is designed to educate you on the technologies so you can make an informed decision. Types of Pollutants

Airborne Particles – Airborne particles are defined as an air pollutant consisting of a mixture of solid and liquid particles suspended in the air. These pollutants can cause indoor allergies and bring on asthma attacks. The pollutants can be cause by mold, fungi, plant spores, pet dander, dust mites, and tobacco smoke. A HEPA type filter/purifier is best for combating these pollutants.

Odors and Gasses – These pollutants can be caused by any number of household items such as aerosols, pesticides, and kitty liter. The gasses and odors are too small to be trapped by a HEPA filter. Activated carbon filters are recommended.

VOC’s or Volatile Organic Compounds – VOC’s are found in common household products that include the following chemicals toluene, ethylene, formaldehyde, chloride, and benzene. These pollutants can cause headaches, nausea, and irritation to the eyes, nose, and throat.

Microorganisms – Microorganisms are commonly referred to as germs, these include viruses, and bacteria. Types of Purifiers High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters

High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters are commonly referred to as HEPA filters. These filters eliminate 99.7% of particles that are larger than .3 microns. There are two things you need to consider when buying a HEPA filter.

Size is an important factor in HEPA filters; the size of the filter is directly proportional to the amount of particles removed.

With HEPA purifiers the filters need to be replaced on periodic a bases. It is important to consider the cost and frequency of filter replacement when purchasing.

Ozone Generators and Ion Generators

These generators create charged ion particles and release them into the air. These Ions attach to pollutants causing them to cling to nearby surfaces. Ion and Ozone generators emit ozone. Ozone can irritate your lungs and cause issues with those who have asthma. Believe it or not these types of purifiers are still very popular.

Electrostatic Precipitators

Electrostatic Precipitators work much the same way as the Ozone and Ion generators. The advantage over the Ozone/Ion generators is that the pollutants are trapped in a cleanable collector plate. However they still do produce ozone.

Charged Media Filters

Charged Media Filters like Electrostatic Precipitators collect particles, but instead of collecting the pollutants in a tray they collect them on a fiber filter. The filters need to be replaced much more frequently compared to a HEPA filter. Some of these filters produce ozone but the better ones do not. If buying a Charged Media Filter be sure it does not produce ozone.

Activated Carbon Filters

Activated Carbon Filters are great at neutralizing smoke chemicals and fumes, and also absorbing odors and gasses. They however are not suitable as an all in one solution and therefore are usually used in conjunction with other filters.

Antibacterial and Germicidal Filters

Antibacterial and Germicidal Filters eliminate bacteia and germs and therefore are great for sterilizing environments such as labs, hospitals, kitchen, and daycares. As with the Activated Carbon Filters, Antibacterial and Germicidal Filters are usually used in conjunction with other filters.

Pre Filters

Pre filters are used to remove other large particles before entering primary filtration. Almost all air purifiers have pre filters.

Ozone Is Not The Enemy Is Ozone Safe For Your Family

April 25, 2021 by john

Is Ozone Safe For Your Family?

Ozone levels are a constant concern, but it is often misunderstood. Ozone is a naturally occurring protection. The problems with ozone occur when man-made elements are introduced into the air. The scientific name for these elements is VOCs, volatile organic compounds. VOCs are created when poisons, toxins and bacteria are released into the air. They destroy the ozone that protects our planet. Worse yet, they are everywhere in your own home!

Pollution caused by VOCs (also responsible for the smog that obliterates clean air in many congested areas) cause ozone alerts. The confusion starts because ozone alerts are released to warn citizens of bad air quality. These dangerous ozone levels are issued because the ozone levels are DOWN, not because they are high. So why do ozone producing air purifiers get a bad rap?

EPA Warnings About In-Home Ozone Levels

The EPA, Environmental Protection Agency, regulates air purifiers that emit ozone by-products because they can fill the air with ozone. The explanation is that ozone is good for the planet, but up close exposure to it is dangerous and can cause health problems. They use the saying “good up high bad nearby” to remind consumers that they shouldn’t under-estimate the hazards of in-home ozone levels.

The effects of ozone include:

  • Lowered lung functions
  • Increased asthma symptoms
  • Coughing
  • Lung inflammation
  • Respiratory infections

What’s Worse Ozone or VOCs?

VOCs are definitely worse than ozone in small amounts. The compounds that make up VOCs are gases released from chemicals around the home like paint and even ink cartridges and permanent markers. Bacteria and mold that are very dangerous are also VOCs commonly found in homes. These compounds are responsible for many illnesses and diseases.

An ozone air purifier can reduce these VOCs by 99.97% leaving you with clean, pure air. Ionic air purifiers also create ozone as a by-product. They produce negative ions in order to neutralize positive ions in the air that can carry these dangerous elements throughout your home. The result is effective, but also causes some problems because a by-product of that ionization process is ozone.

In the early days, the ozone air purifiers released much higher levels of ozone. With current EPA regulation, these air purifiers no longer cause serious problems for the average person.

Who Shouldn’t Use An Ozone Air Purifier

Is ozone safe for everyone? As a rule, low levels are perfectly safe for most people. However, anyone with severe asthma problems, any lung disease or other breathing problems should avoid ionizing air purifiers that may emit even low levels of ozone as this can complicate existing health problems. Air purifiers that use HEPA filters combined with activated charcoal filters are a better choice for anyone with breathing problems and do not have any of the effects of ozone that ionizers do.

If you have small pets in the home, especially birds, it is not a good idea to use ozone generating air purifiers. These small animals have much less lung capacity than people and can’t handle even lower levels of ozone in the air.

The Best Use for Ozone Generators

The effects of ozone are completely eliminated when you give air purifiers that use ozone generation time to operate when you are not at home. Setting your purifier to start when you are at work or school, and shut off one to two hours before returning will ensure that the ozone kills the bacteria and mold spores that are in the air, and have the time to become oxygen again so the air is completely safe.

This process will work even if you have health issues that could be impacted by low ozone levels. You can also use an ozone air purifier if you are in a different room. However, if you have breathing problems that could be aggravated by ozone levels, it is better to avoid using an ozone generator when you are in the home.

Washable Filters Mean $$$ Savings

There isn’t another air purifier on the market that can boast the same combinations of excellent performance and permanent washable filters. The Honeywell HFD-120-Q really does represent a significant cost saving versus other products. You just need to clean the filters once or twice a month depending on the amount of dust they pick up. Washing the filters you to appreciate just how much material this air purifier collects. The water will turn brown or black; just imagine this is what you would have breathed in if it wasn’t operating.

Don’t waste time even looking for another quality air filter. It’s quiet and small, plus it works. What more can you ask for?

It’s Quiet, Small, Plus it works. What More Can You Ask For?

The Honeywell HFD-120-Q Tower HEPAQuiet Air Purifier is very quiet. If there is no noise in the house then of course you will hear it but it is much quieter than running a fan. You also have the choice of selecting three settings and it moves a lot of air even on the lowest setting. One option is to run it on the low setting when you are in the room and the high setting when you go out but it isn’t really necessary. It has a very small footprint, which allows you to place it almost anywhere in the room. It also looks great, which is something you can’t say about many other products.

As well as removing dust it is also very efficient at removing smells. Many people run the Honeywell HFD-120-Q in rooms that are larger than it is rated for and it still does a great job. Oscillation certainly helps and it really depends on how bad the quality of your air is. Certainly you could use a couple of Ionic Breezes and together they would not come near doing the purifying job that this unit can do.

The benefits for allergy sufferers are obvious. The HEPA filter is extremely efficient at removing 99.97% of all particles in the air, including pollen, spores and other allergens. But you can even see an improvement because you will no longer see dust floating in the air when a shaft of sunlight shines in.

Hepa Air Purifiers

April 25, 2021 by john

n air-filter with HEPA certification means it can be either Near HEPA or True HEPA. Near HEPA filters are usually those that can trap particles of 0.3 micron diameter with between 90% and 99.97% efficiency. However, a True HEPA must be at least 99.97% effective at removing all 0.3 micron particles from the air. Though most HEPA air-purifiers maintain industry standards, not all brands deliver the high standards of efficiency they claim. Some have been known to remove only 10% of allergens from the air. Some others are known to generate ozone while air-purifying. Therefore, you are advised to do some careful research before buying a HEPA air-purifier.

Some HEPA air purifiers are fitted with an additional UV light to kill airborne viruses and bacteria. This helps mitigate spreading of flu, TB (tuberculosis) and measles.

Some leading brands of HEPA air-purifiers are: Honeywell, Ionic Breeze, Hunter, IQAir, Austin Air, Friedrich, Oreck, Air-O-Swiss, Biozone, Calutech, Delonghi, Care, Allerair, Holmes, Blueair, Healthmate and Hamilton Beach. For controlling humidity (which also can cause allergic reactions), you can consider Danby Dehumidifier. If you wish to eliminate dust and improve indoor air quality, a high quality allergy relief vacuum cleaner from Miele or Dyson is a great investment.

Holmes HAP726U Review

April 25, 2021 by john

Holmes HAP726-U True HEPA Allergen Remover definitely works. I live in an apartment with exposed brick in the grime and grit of NYC. Within a few days – just running this purifier at medium capacity during the nights – I felt a marked improvement.

My significant other and I always used to wake up with dirty eyes – they were literally painful, and we would both have to rinse out our eyes first thing. Now, my eyes don’t hurt anymore! By the way, while the carbon filters may have to be replaced quickly when you first start using it, the HEPA filter seems to last a long time. Within two months the carbon filters were filthy but the HEPA filter is still clean.

I use this for a huge kitchen/living room combo room. Even though this is labelled for a room a bit smaller than the one I have it in now, this thing works. It even neutralizes the “odor” of my plug in freshener! The cost of filters adds up, but with living right next to a gravel road, this thing is way worth it to keep the dust and other stuff at bay.

This is my 4th HEPA machine by Holmes. These are really great machines for removing allergens out of the air so you can sleep better and wake up refreshed! My last machine lasted 8 years. The best way to keep filter costs down is to use the Odor Filters over the main filters at all times; it will also lengthen the life of your machine.

Holmes Allergen Remover is works very well regarding removal of dust, pet dander, and odors. Great construction, feels premium. Big, but also compact Operation is simple. It is unobtrusive in room. It is also very easy to move from room to room. Filters go in easily and fit well. Some people want to prescribe wizardry to these things. It circulates the air in the room through a filter. That’s what you want it to do. Uses true HEPA.

I wish we had purchased one of these several years ago! Our house has 3 cats and a dog in it, so is a little dustier than a normal house. We also purchased a Frigidaire dehumidifier and between the 2 units, our air smells wonderful and so fresh!

When the sun would shine in the living room you could see a “fog” of dust in the air, now you barely see a single dust particle floating anywhere! Our allergies and headaches are gone, and we have even gotten over colds much faster.

The filters are easy to change, and if you regularly vacuum and wash them, it will extend the life of the HEPA filters, which are pricey. We keep this one in our living room and a smaller tower model in our bedroom. We love this unit and highly recommend it.

Our unit has run non-stop for 5 months. NYC is notorious for the amount of dust and dirt and grime that make it through crevices into our homes. Our Holmes made an enormous difference in the amount of airborne dust, and the constant NYC accumulation.

We dust ever so much less frequently! Allergens, especially cat hair and dander, are noticeably gone, too. We’re breathing much better these days, and waking up with clear sinuses (which never happened before.) We’re very happy with both the performance and the cost of ownership.

Holmes Allergen Remover is a little larger than I expected, but doesn’t take up much room because it’s so thin. There are very few moving parts which makes it virtually idiot proof. I live near a busy roadway so there are lots of air particulates which you can see clearly when the sun shines and they float through the light.

After using overnight, in the morning I couldn’t find any such floating dust particles in the sun light. As far as cleaning the air, it works great. It is a little noisy, similar to a white noise machine one might use as a sleep aid. I usually sleep with a white noise machine but now don’t us it because this purifier does double duty. I would recommend this product only if you don’t mind the noise it will make when you use it.

The Pros And Cons Of An Electrostatic Air Purifier

For instance, if you’re hoping to recycle the air throughout a large house, but have purchased a purifier that’s only equipped to handle a single room, then you’re going to be disappointed with its apparent performance. It’s important to consider all of the facts before making the commitment to buy a particular type of air purification system. Otherwise, you might just as well chase the wind – the success rate for each will be about the same.

Although there are many different types of filtration systems for the air, one of the best is the Electrostatic Air Purifier. Offering a lot in the way of health benefits, this unique approach to air cleaning has been a critical tool in the eradication of irritants in the interior of homes across the nation. Let’s take a look at some of the assets and liabilities that this type of air system has to offer.

Positives on an Electrostatic Air Purifier

+ By virtue of its very nature, this type of air filtration system is extremely quiet – and often, silent – making it less conspicuous than other purifying methods.

+ Unlike other types of air cleaners, the Electrostatic Air Purifier uses no filters that need to be replaced. Instead, steel collection rods attract the contaminants, which can then be removed during the cleaning process.

+ Due to their silent nature, these can be left on 24/7, offering continuous air purification. Other types of filtration systems are often turned off periodically, due to the noise factor, allowing allergens to take over the room in very short order.

+ A variety of allergens are trapped within the collection rods – often as small as a single micron. That being the case, irritants such as cat dander, pollen and other common pollutants can easily be filtered from the room to improve the quality of the air that you and your loved ones are breathing.

+ Provides thorough cleansing of the air, offering both an allergen-free environment and a natural air freshener by removing odors from the air that are caused by various contaminants.

Negatives

+ The initial cost of systems such as these can often be quite expensive. For those who are unprepared to handle a hefty price tag, this will be a great deterrent.

+ Since it pulls virtually all of the allergens and other contaminants out of the air within the structure of the home and holds them on steel collection rods, it requires frequent cleaning, so that the rods will be free to continue collecting the pollutants from the air.

+ Depending upon the brand and model that you purchase, some of the units can be a bit noisy, which is seen as an irritant by some people.

+ As a result of the way that this type of air cleaning system works, ozone and ions are released into the air, which can have adverse side effects to those who come into contact with them.

Whether you view the Electrostatic Air Purifier in a positive or negative light, there’s definitely something to be said for the fact that it’s successful in its ability to cleanse the air of those pollutants that trigger allergic reactions and – in some cases – agents which are responsible for spreading common illnesses.
