Fellowes AP-300PH Air Purifier is very quiet and efficient. Loudest when it hits red level. But that means there is a sharp increase in pollutants in the air. For example, while operating normally and quietly if I should rub a muscle cream to relieve workout pain, the purifier raises to red level until the air is clear of the odor.
It operates very quietly normally. It does not produce any odors of its own. When odors or other particulates are in the air, it speeds up, raising the noise level slightly, but it won’t interfere with normal conversation in the room or on the phone. It does a fair job of eliminating odors and dust. Used in a living room/dining room space, somewhat larger than recommended.
I plugged it in our bedroom next to our bed and turned it on. The noise that it makes is not disturbing to me; I actually prefer a little background noise while sleeping. I leave it on the “auto” setting and when it is on the lowest setting I can barely hear it. At first, it ran at high for a while, cleaning the air, and then went back down to the lowest setting.
Also, when a family member has come in after visiting a home with cats (to which I am allergic) this wonderful machine jumps to red and cleans the air. I love it! I most certainly DO intend to buy another for a different room.
I have received enormous benefit. I have allergies and take an allergy pill daily but have never used an air purifier. Even so, I used to wake up with a stuffy nose and sneeze several times in the morning, sometimes a dozen or more!
Since running the Fellowes Quiet Air Purifier that problem has disappeared completely. I wake up breathing easily! I even have a cat that sleeps on my bed at night I notice that when I spray my perfume, or apply scented lotions the motor goes to high for a while, doing its thing!
I leave the Purifier on constantly and I would highly recommend the AP-300PH Purifier to anyone who is interested in a large room purifier.
I have pollen allergies and needed an air purifier. This one works great! I have really noticed a difference since I got this air purifier. I use it in my bedroom. I have noticed I sleep much better and don’t wake up unable to breathe during the night because my nose is stopped-up from swollen membranes. The price is right too! Will purchase another soon in a larger model for living area of my home!
This unit is SO quiet; on the low setting you can barely hear it. I love the automatic air quality detector. It increases the filter power if it detects a lower quality of air. I keep this unit next to the bed and I have been sleeping much better without coughing or wheezing. I highly recommend this product if you are searching for a solution for daily allergies, asthma triggers in the house, or just wanting to breathe cleaner air at home.
Fellowes Quiet Air Purifier with True Hepa Filer (AP-300PH) comes with double filters that are easy to access and replace. It comes with clear instructions on set up and operation. Displays filter status, air quality, and fan speed indicator lights.
In auto mode it detects the air quality and adjusts the fan speed. In low speed, you can hardly hear the unit. In turbo (highest) fan, you can hear the wind. I would turn it to turbo when I am working downstairs and return it to auto when I go to bed on the second floor.
I was hesitant purchasing this air purifier on hearing that the Plasmatrue technology emitted a distracting noise. And as the other reviewer(s) pointed out, perhaps the reviewer with the noise complaint has a defective unit.
There is no sound that I notice beyond the fan motor, which is very quiet in the Low setting and about the same noise level as a small household fan in the High mode. I have dealt with Fellowes before and am pleased with their quality and dependability so found this unit a logical choice to maintain air quality in our bedroom.
The filters change easily and are reasonably priced compared to competing models. I am totally pleased with this purchase.
The Fellowes AP-300PH Quiet Air Purifier; It’s a very sharp looking unit with a relatively small footprint which in light of its vertical stance can easily find a place in most any room.
What get’s noticed immediately upon plugging the unit on for the first time is how extremely quiet it is! You can still hear a pin drop on the low setting, yes you can.
I really don’t know what some of the reviewers are complaining about when they say that the Plasma True technology feature on this unit is extremely loud and bothersome. Other than the fan when it is set to one of its higher speeds, I really can’t hear a thing. These people may have received a defective air purifier, are imagining things or have extremely sensitive hearing like that of our canine friends who are able to hear sounds that humans can’t hear.
Not only is this Fellowes air purifier extremely quiet for convenient use in any bedroom, but it also has a nifty fully automatic setting (the default when first turned on and where you should leave it). The Fellowes unit does everything for you in this mode by adjusting the fan speed higher or lower according to the condition/quality of the ambient room air. The filters still need to be changed manually no matter what.
It is also very cool to get continuous feedback on what the air purifier is doing at any time by simply looking at the display where the fan speed, air quality and the status of both the charcoal prefilter (lasts 3 months) and the main HEPA filter (lasts about 1 year) can always be seen.
The colors of green, yellow and red when shown on the display are interpreted exactly as you would expect. If red is displayed in the appropriate place on the screen not only do you have bad air, but it is also very likely time to replace your filter(s).
Purchasing this Fellowes AP-300PH unit with which I am extremely pleased.
